What a beautiful, mature performance! Your fingers dance over the keys, and your tone color sparkles. Truly exquisite!

Singing songs with excellent coaching and singing in an advanced choir will definitely help this young pianist to learn about phrasing the melodic lines, understanding the relationship between breathing to sing and breathing to play, and to refine this boy's ear so he will improve his ability to notice, follow, and develop the contrapuntal lines. This, and learning something about dancing will help him to be more centered while phrasing more convincingly. I earned my master's in conducting at a fine conservatory where ALL students sang in excellent choirs-- sometimes more than one-- every day, whatever their major instrument or discipline was. All of the faculty supported this, and the benefit was clear in recitals and other performances. Sing in an excellent choir to become an even more expressive instrumentalist! Bravo to this very talented boy.

Absolutely correct. Glenn Gould is a typical example.

This is how master teachers teach. By example. It’s the best teaching technique……. As they say, ‘Monkey see, monkey do’. I loved watching this, and I’ve never even touched a piano in my life.

Wow I can hear the second layers after Lang Lang's instruction!
That's quite a torture to listen through the initial performance. You seem to pick up super quickly though.

If you're human you can understand music across languages and cultures, but you don't seem to understand music, maybe you're not human 😂

@@quguluohong9328 Well, there is a bit of truth there, after evacuating the mockery and racist aspect. Chopin music is somehow difficult to access to for Asians, as of now, there is no reference. However, when you see how fast they adapted, learned and now winning most of competition, I think Asia will be the big player of tomorrow. Then Lang Lang is an immense genius, which was a trigger for legions of chinese pianists to come after.

What a great musical taste has maestro Lang Lang! His interpretation of Waltz comes from his heart. Also, I think he probably can dance waltz, at least he feels it. I and my wife listened him live in Houston, and I was impressed by his very soft "piano" technique. I enjoyed his Masterclass. In fact, I watch several times.
