If you put a new resistor in, a couple weeks later ,, it will be burnt too. cHECK THE GROUND WIRE BY THE AIR BOX....GOT THIS FROM A BROH ON U TUBE.

PLEASE LISTEN. The reason they are burnt is that they are not properly grounded..Behind the air box, is a bolt that has 5 grouonds on one bolt..,, there is paint behind that bolt, and all five conection are corroded, and will short out the speeds on the blower resister.. So, check this before you replace the blower resister. I did two of them before I fouond oout the GROUND is bad.....Please,,,,, Same is true, there is a ground deal same kind, behind the battery box that keeps you passcode and startng function working. try it.. Mine was burnt at the blower motor connection. Be sure to check all of the connections.

Gm did a terrible job wiring these trucks. The grounds suck causing a multitude of problems.

Been 3 days diagnosing customers truck and found broken ground to pcm. This video definitely helped out!!

Thank you, literally changed the resistor, motor, and and hvac and heat cluster and it still wouldn't work, watched this went out looked behind the glove box and bingo there that plug was burnt in 4 of the holes and on the prongs that go inside it, Thank you again.

I see you used LM102949 bearing for the carrier. Do the impalas have the 2.89 od race or the bigger 3.06 od race? I just bought the Eaton trutrac for mine.

For this model truck, avoid using the blower on 3. It will just melt again. It will always work on 4 as it doesn't use any resistor on that speed. So if you replace, use 1,2, or 4. 3 pulls too much for the mickey mouse harness.

I believe there is a manufacturer defects related to this part in all Caprices and also Buick roadmaster cars .... In hot climate areas the dash pad will get cracked and defected almost by the first 4 years of usage !!!!!!!!

No, your steering wheel doesn't have an airbag, you will be hurt if there is no airbags. So, if you don't want to get hurt, please replace the steering wheel with the airbag variant.
