Until they’re an attending people have very poor understanding of the job they’re signing up for. Across medical and surgical fields. Training is brutal but you’re never the “last line of defense.”

My friend was thrown off a horse a couple of weeks ago; the brain bleed developed slowly and was missed. She died this morning. I wish there had been a doctor to help her. She was 28 and an elementary school teacher.

Absolutely, so many reasons not to choose medicine, but feeling queasy at blood never really felt high up there on the list for me.

I am embarking on a similar path after 5 years of engineering undergrad and 2.5 years in the work force. Do you mind sharing at what age you started med school? For me as a non-trad (and 26), feeling like I’m too old to be making such a huge life change is a big weight on my mind.

I wish there was a way to turn off HDR when channels enable it. It just makes the KZbin video as bright as a flashbang and makes the rest of my KZbin dark and unreadable.

I also don't like Anki tbh, I only used it a little to help me retain Sketchy microbio. I'm also trying to get into neurosurgery for residency. Thank you for this video! I'm going to use it for my finals for sure

Thank you, I think this will help me a lot in studying for the MCAT! Most study plan videos just go over what someone did to get a good score, but don't provide any flexibility or logic around why something works. This video is different.

This is a great video. I would love to watch more like it! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to make KZbin videos. Also, I really appreciate that these videos are long form KZbin and NOT KZbin shorts.

Super great advice. I was wondering why no one would respond to me after I'd send them multiple paragraph-long emails, but this totally makes sense. Love the videos, Dr. Andrews.
