3” by 3” is the standard for necklines. However, to get a personalized neck width , use this formula- Bust/12 (bust divided by 12) I do hope this is helpful. Thanks

Amazing tutorial thank you ! How do you sew the curve in the armhole ? My curve never stays flat
@Ayothedressmaker

Thanks!💯 I always notch the curve part of the armhole, that way it relaxes well. Additionally, I don’t leave too many allowance around the armhole.

Thanks I always notched the curve part of the armhole, that way it relaxes well. I will also recommend that you don’t leave allowance bigger than 1” around the armhole curve. Let me know if it works for you✅

@Ayothedressmaker

@@shonubioluwatosin5235 I would recommend 3yards if you want same as the style inspiration. However if you want a shorter sleeve and less flamboyant dress you could go ahead with 2.5yards.

@Ayothedressmaker
@Ayothedressmaker 12 күн бұрын
My pleasure🤩 No , 2.5” is not a general rule or standard but I find it to work for an “average size “, for “big size “I recommend 3”. Moreover, you can use the same crotch extension you use for the front for the back extension. (Find out the one that works for you) I do hope this was helpful

If there's apart I don't understand is how much elastic one can use around the shoulder.are there any estimation/approximation?.pls help
@Ayothedressmaker
@Ayothedressmaker 12 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for your feedback! What I did was to put the elastic around my shoulder and got the amount that is “not too tight” and also “not too loose.” Also you can measure your shoulder round and minus about 10 from that to get the amount of elastic band to cut. Please practice this two methods and see what works. I do hope this was helpful ✌️

Sat on a hard surface , then measure from the hard surface to my waist. You can also divide your waist circumference by 4 and then add 1.5inches to the value you got , I.e , 40/4 = 10 , 10 + 1.5” (crotch then equals to 11.5”) I do hope this is helpful ✅
