quick question. I would say any Disto do interior or exterior dimension to produce a As-Built Floor plan. I am happy with any. my questions is what Disto is less cost to produce the point on the hard scape, the outside amenities is where I have hard time and is time consuming trying to get the curb of existing concrete or pool. thank you. I was thinking X3 but the DST360 cost $730.00 and uP. Thank you in advance for your time.

hi, if you want to make indirect measurements between two or more points, you need to use the DST adapter. This adapter allows point-to-point measurements and is therefore indispensable for this type of measurement. If you do not need to make point-to-point measurements, the DISTO X3 itself will serve you well, especially in combination with the DISTO Plan App: shop.leica-geosystems.com/global/measurement-tools/disto/leica-disto-plan-app#tutorials

Hi, yes, the DISTO X3 in combination with the DST 360 adapter is capable of Point-to-Point measurements. These measurements are therefore possible.

Hi, you can use any tripod as long as it has a ¼" tripod thread. As for the adapter, the DST 360 is the only option as it contains all the necessary electronics to allow P2P measurement.

Is the Leica CSX8 live view supposed to be underexposed when tracking Vpen.? I have seen other videos of users using the Android tablet and the exposure is properly lit. I ask because my ICS50 loses tracking easily and I am curious as to if the underexposed view is to blame. As soon as the target is switched back to "any surface " the view is normal again. Switch to VPen and the view goes dark!

Explain to me, I buy a Leica disto s910 over wi-fi, connect it to a tablet, take p2p measurements, see the results in 3d from lines and dots, but! 1. Why do you put A1. A2. C2. F3 between the dots? Was it difficult to enter the distance between the points there and sign the points themselves separately? 2. Why is it that when I export a file with 3d measurements to dxf or cad 3d I get just a line? what should I do next to re-measure it? should I sign the points and the distance between them? Why did you sign the distance between the points in 2d, and each point was signed separately, but in 3D IT CANNOT BE DONE? 3. I bought the Disto X6 (P2P package) about a month ago and after taking it with me to several job sites and also testing it quite extensively, I can say that I am not as happy with it as when I first received the tool. The inaccuracy of even direct measurements can easily go above 1mm even at very small distances (i.e. 0,5-5,0m) and that’s because any mild indirect reflections visible to the camera are affecting the tool even if the laser dot itself points at a white matt surface. I have no doubt that under laboratory conditions the tool will be performing as per the specifications, but it is not as accurate in the field, which is a shame for a tool at this price range. In one of the tests I did, with a Reference distance of 1,4025m the accuracy after 10 measurements was 3,325mm which is really not what you would expect. I hope this a software issue that can be solved in the next update!

Hello @dimitri98, we are very sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the accuracy of the device. This should be at least below 1.5 mm (unfavorable condition) in the conditions you describe. However, please note that reflections in the area of the target or perhaps also the penetration depths of the laser at the target point can also influence the accuracy. This is due to the optical measuring principle. If you have the impression that the laser does not meet the specifications, please contact your dealer!

@@LeicaGeosystemsCH thank you very much for your response. I took measurments using both the target plate (Leica GZM3) provided with the X6 P2P Package as well as a matt white wall. I tested the tool in 5 different scenarios (with favourable conditions each time) and filled the "Accuracy verification spreedsheet" provided at your website. The tool failed in 4 out of 5 scenarios. In all 4 failed scenarios the tool was positioned parallel to the measured surface and so the surface was partly visible to the camera, but the laser dot was clearly hitting the target and not the surface. In the 5th scenario were the tool performed as per the specifications the disto was placed vertically on a rigid surface targeting a white wall, without any surfaces in close proximity to the camera. That is when I realized that the accuracy of the tool is affected when a surface is in close proximity to the camera, which is a very common scenario in real life situations. So I would like to ask you if this is something that can be improved in the next software updates?

Working with another company, they issue me a Topcon GT Robotic Station and Tablet with Magnet Field Software. I really liked this software it would let you edit your instrument height even after setting up, working on vertical buildings this is a great feature, I had elevation benchmarks on every floor, after setting up my instrument on zero height with orientation or points, I could do a any surface shot to the elevation benchmark of the floor I was, do the calculation and edit the instrument height, for example if you're on 3rd floor your benchmark is 154ft, you shoot it and it gives you -1.3ft elevation result, that means your instrument height is 155.3ft, so you could edit the instrument height to 155.3ft for the rest of that set up you have elevation, Leica Captivate won't let you edit instrument height after set up, you can only play with your target height, which is what I do now, I wish the Captivate would change this.

You can do a height transfer setup to change the height of the station, or you can setup using your orientation and position from your targets in 2d and use your benchmark in 1d as your height in a resection?

I have experience with Leica: -GS14 latest firmware is not compatible with Leica SW (good job, why you have firmware incompatible with SW?!!!!) -GS18 tilt still goes out and trying to work (support - 13 sats are not enought?!!), new firmware that improves RTK and decided to remove xRTK (what smart head did this?) -When away from TS(bluetooth) so GNSS goes out too (from support - GNSS goes out because it uses all resources to connect to TS). Very smart i can´t use GNSS. Who made the SW?!! -Who made annoying sounds? I don´t want to search submarines when tracking prism, low energy but it blocks screen (why?!!!), can´t find machine and blocks screen, going with GS18 and what it does? Tilt compensation on, off, on, off, on, off Ultra **** equipment so i expect the same **** quality

Hi, the DST 360 is compatible with the DISTO X3 and X4 models. On the other hand, the DST 360-X is designed specifically for the DISTO X6. The key difference is that the DST 360-X features a larger mounting plate, making it suitable for accommodating the bigger DISTO X6 device.
