Paid $299 for my Hercules 12" Sliding Dual Bevel Compound Miter Saw last year during their Black Friday sales...I also picked up the Hercules 12-1/2" Thickness Planer for $349....the Hercules planer has 3 cutting knives on the cutter head VS 2 like most other brands have. I have my Miter Saw mounted on a Black & Decker Work Mate right now as it makes it quite portable when needed....I have my old miter saw stand which I use if I need to cut long pieces as it gives more support with the slide out extension wings, but for the most part the little work mate is great because it hardly takes up any space when I'm working in the shop.

I’ve had this miter saw in my shop for almost 3 years now and have had no issues at all! As long as you take the time to square it up properly (as you should with any saw) it’ll be a great saw! I would definitely recommend this for doing stuff around the house!

@@benjaminblankenship980 I always tell people to take the plunge if you’re interested! Get a few basic tools at Home Depot or Lowes and start building! If you like it, you can upgrade your tools later as you go! Everyone thinks that they need the ultimate setup to get started, but I started with a circular saw and some drills and some measuring tools. I’ll hopefully be able to some out with a video soon on the tools I recommend for beginners starting out!

Thank you so much, young man good job explaining HERCULES miter saw. Their instruction manual is written by someone I don't know but it doesn't make sense. Like on page 8 it says on 2. Lock knob 239, on 3 it says bag 240, TOOL CLEANING 2. It says pin 89 on 3. It says plate 229and so on and on. Which doesn't make sense because there is no number that could be found. I found two Krater pins and a black plastic threaded rod with a good turning handle. I don't know what to do with all. I WISH THEY WOULD DONE A BETTER JOB ON THIS MANUAL.

i’ve had mine for 2 years now . very handy to have the 12 inch blade with all the features. i mounted mine on the rigid rolling miter saw stand . easy to move near project . dust collection is never an issue since i o lot do wood working in spring summer and fall . hook up the shop vac . the rest is blown off with my leaf blower when outside . great saw for the home owner .

I don't know about the TTi comment, i seriously doubt that unless you have a good source. Lu Tools, Powerplus and SBD are what the internet suggests. I have this saw and do like it but if I had to do it all over again I would get a ridgid. This saw is made primarily for construction and is basically a dewalt clone. The worst part about it is you will need about 34 -35 in of clearance front to back which is right around highest in its class. It terrible for a shop but great if you are lugging it to job sites out in the open. Definately not a shop saw unless you have unlimited room which most do not even in a two car garage.

All sliding miter saws require space for them to operate, that's how they are....if you are buying a sliding miter saw you should have enough brains to realize they take up space and plan for that...they've been out for decades, so its nothing that should be of a surprise to anybody that they require more space than a non-sliding miter saw, or other types of saws that use a number of pivot points instead....The Ridgid would be my choice but I got the Hercules for $299, and my saw is on a mobile stand so space isn't an issue and never has been a point to make when I've bought miter saws in the past either....they're made to be mobile so having them slide and the rails and space requirement hasn't been an issue....if you want a space waster buy a radial arm saw. If you don't have room for the miter saw in a 2 car garage you need to clean the junk out of your garage.
@roym.1141
@roym.1141 5 ай бұрын
@@wildbill23c absolutely wrong, it depends on the arm mechanism (some require NO space from the dimensions listed when they have articulated arms). There is a true disnction between using a miter saw for construction and for fine woodworking. What you are basically saying is all matter requires space...duh. No need to be smart with your comments dude. This saw requires the most space front to back in its class....FACTS! Go look it up smart guy! Definately something I wish I knew before buying it and I'm sharing my experience.
