I’d love to hear identical (as close as is humanly possible, obviously) renditions on your two Kostal guitars as well. To your highly educated, refined ears, what do you think the main (probably subtle) differences would be, Michael. I’m guessing many of your appreciative followers and fellow luthier-built acoustic guitar fans would value your thoughts.

The Casimi: bright, glassy, sensitive The MDW: warm, lush, full. 2 very different guitars…nice work getting something totally different, but yet familiar
@MichaelWatts17 сағат бұрын
Oui chef! Yes indeed - things will change to some extent as it matures - the MDW was also pretty toppy to start with and look what happened!

I can be wrong but to my ears the guitar slowly opens up. Might be because you`ve adapt your way of playing to bring out the best of it , but I remember it sounded different the last time I`ve heared. The guitars lows sound deeper, and as a whole, the instrument seems to project a more balanced sound now. But I can be wrong.
@IvayloNikolov19 сағат бұрын
One can imagine many thing. Unfortunately mic position, post-processing and great number of factors can change the sound. But if you like feeling inspired by noticing differences in the projected sound characteristics, it is great way to appreciate the instrument and get motivated :-)

Some of the Holdsworth chords are amazing...some very useable. At the 10th fret... E, A, C,E,B,E...C maj 7th add 13 (no 5th). Play the E and A strings open in the bass. Amazing chord. That's Holdsworth from the 1980's.. Neat inversion...neat to arpeggiate it and then resolve it to the Cmaj 7th cowboy at 1st fret

Holdsworth was a huge talent
