what is this genre called when it is this melancholic? is it a type of Lofi jazz or does it have its' own name of a genre?

Thanks for posting this, James - a really great effort as his music is definitely not easy to play (I certainly can't). Well done!

A wonderfully musical rendition of Searle Wright's Prelude. The tempo, phrasing, and registrations are excellent. I especially like the pedal solo performed on a broad scale flute instead of a reed stop. Cheers!

Never had opportunity to crew a boat, so I sent my money to crew the boat. He don't mind 3am in January for a 20 mile rescue, no my money don't mind one bit! Always put money into the box at the station , could be some teabags or diesel, my money don't care. Glad to give, and glad to help where I can, but than your dad for his service!!

Quick question was this recorded straight from the built in speakers or into a computer? And also is this the only Rhodes style sound or are there a few?
@jwillans2 жыл бұрын
This was recorded directly into a computer. There are additional electric piano sounds, but I don't recall whether these are Rhodes style.
@sageywavey2 жыл бұрын
Is there any sound similar to this on the Yamaha DGX, 670
@SimplicityForGood6 ай бұрын
@@sageywavey I got the same questions... But today I was in the store to check these.. and the guy said, the easiest way is either use the app of Roland and change sounds by Bluetooth or you can connect the piano to Logic Pro and you have all the sounds in the world for these styles of the melancholic niche

I'm curious how they start the outboards out of the water without frying the impellers...
@CymruEmergencyResponder2 жыл бұрын
The grey squarish part of the carriage at the back is a water tank. One of each side. They connect to the engines via a hose on each side to feed water until the boat is in the water.

Steinway quality = 10/10, Röde mics quality = 7/10, focusrite preamps quality = 2/10. Just upgrading to an RME interface or standalone preamps would've made this recording sound much, much better.
@gaborcsordas Жыл бұрын
yes but most people have focusrite, so they can have a better idea what they can get from the mics. Of course the Steinway is overkill :)

Thank you for sharing, as I'm interested in both a potential by of the mics as well as recording techniques. I'm afraid though at some points I hear clipping. After changing headphones I still hear it, so I'm convinced it's not the headphones I used. Although I do hear the differences, I don't know what my preference is would be.
@jwillans4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ingmar - at what point do you hear clipping? I've made a further recording linked below using the Rode NT55 in cardioid configuration - with better placement, separation and I believe post-processing (compression and EQ). Let me know what you think. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6bVl3R5e6uafq8
