Hello, thanks for your comment! Honestly, I would not do it. The amount of work it requires, plus you would need access to a hoist. Between the trans swap itself, harness change over, pedal assembly install, computer swap or tune, etc. It's best you save a bit more and buy it already equipped with the t56.

Unfortunately, it's actually a pinhole caused by the heat that emits from the engine and the bend that goes into the fitting.

@busystuff23yearsago15 that gear clamp has been on there for years. Unfortunately, it swelled at the elbow and finally blew. I thanked it for its 29 years of service and then tossed it 😂

I still have my '96 Z/28. It was my 1st car. Going on 13 years of ownership. Dont LS swap it. Get a built 383 or 396 LT1 and a 24X swap. These things make plenty of power for the street. Even in stock form.

That's awesome that you still have it! This was my first car, too. This is my 10th year of owning it. My concern isn't so much isn't just power, I've owned a 99 Camaro SS, a project car, and sold it a few years ago. It was so much easier to work with, find parts, and tune. My LT1 camaro had to get tuned by an older Asian man on his laptop from the 90s! Essentially, it's just a more reliable and user-friendly engine. That's my opinion, at least.

@@WestCoastConnectionGarage Fair enough. Torqhead kit makes them usable with HPTuners. Paul from Torqhead is very knowledgeable and easy to work with; I think he is from Canada. It is good that you still have yours!!! These things are disappearing.

@markovich3605 That's good to know, as the older Asian guy I mentioned earlier he was the top tuner in the Toronto area from the 90s to the present. The rumor was he acquire a hacked version of GMs OB1 software, so he is able to play around with a lot on these cars.

I love My '95 z28. I have the exact same car with stock aluminum wheels. I haven't put headers on it, maybe some day. LT1s are great engines and deserve more love. They are different, and you have to understand the design and their idiosyncracies to appreciate them. Harder to work on than an LS, but stronger overall. Mine only has 93k km (58k MI) on it, so no way am I going the LS swap Nice examples of the early 4th Gens are becoming rare. These things will come into their own soon as the 90s kids age, just like the Fox body Mustangs are right now with guys who were teens in the 80s.

@philhamilton8731 I agree 100% about everything you've said. These 4th gens are definitely then next upcoming classic. Most of the LT1s flaws essentially had to happen in order for future engines to be developed. In my case, I'd rather go LS. However, not to say my LT1 block would be trashed. I would make it into a coffee table!

Thank you! This was indeed a tough project, as it was my first British Leyland vehicle I've ever worked on, and parts were very hard to find. I've sold this car months back, in running and driving condition, but still needing quite a lot of work. I'd like another one at some point in my life.

It's a Frankenstein set up, I plan to do an actual exhaust note video as this video did not pick it up throughly. I have Pacesetter mid tube headers to a 3" Hooker Super Competition exhaust system. It has such a unique sound to it!
