As a young woman my mother packed sardines, in Yarmouth Maine. She hated them. She said the odor got into everything.

Nation’s last sardine cannery closed From World War II through the 1990s, canneries steadily began to close. In 1999, Connors Bros. Ltd. of New Brunswick bought Stinson Seafood canneries in Bath, Belfast, Prospect Harbor and Lubec. Belfast and Lubec closed within a few years, followed by Bath in 2005. Peabody said Connor Bros. and its sister company, Bumble Bee Foods, finished off the industry here. “They bought factories and closed them,” he said. “They wanted a monopoly. Now they have it.” The Stinson closure this week will mark the death of a U.S. industry that has been struggling for decades. It is the end of an era for Maine’s coastal communities.

Curious what exactly you liked about the editing and sound of this clip. I only really notice the consistency of car movement for transition and the repetition of the train horn that sort of mentally keeps all these images in the same geographic area. That plus like it starting with images of these normal / norm-enforcing institutional authorities of a town: industry, healthcare, schooling, courts or government house

How old is this video and why am I watching it!!! It's really gross, some of the workers have gross tape on their fingers and no gloves, while others are covered to the nines. It's so 🤢 gross

Quanto desperdício meu Deus. Mais da metade da sardinha é dispensada enquanto isso milhões morrem de fome.

Hello, I am from a country called Mauritania that has a large and varied fish wealth. I am looking for people interested in the field who want to expand investment in fish freezing rooms or fishing boats or collect large quantities of fish and export them from here to their markets.
