Top!

Hello Clara, we were looking at the cookwise 9L duel airfryer 3L x 6L XL against the Keplin 9.5L duel zone airfryer, we have watched the video of the Tefal duel airfryer so we won't be buying that one, we were just wondering if you had heard anything of these 2 or tried them, we're really looking for a airfryer that has 2 compartments 1 large and 1 small, so we can cook 8inch cakes could you please help us thank you... Emilio 😊

Hi Emilio, the Philips 3000 would match that description, great build quality and it’s on a good deal at the moment amzn.to/3DuKRmK I’m afraid I haven’t tested the other two (yet!) so can’t comment, but hope that helps! Happy Christmas!

Which one of these has ceramic coating basket?
@CandidClaraКүн бұрын
The drawers of the Ninja are made with a PTFE coating and the crisper plates are non-stick aluminium with a nano ceramic coating. The baskets of the Cosori have a PFOA-free, BPA-free Teflon coating.

I have a cheap small air fryer used it only 4 or 5 times. Can’t stand that factory artificial smell. Tried running on empty, used bicarbonate soda, lemons, the lot but given up. I’m wondering if it’s because a cheap brand and maybe a ninja, cursorily or instant pot brand might be better??
@CandidClara2 күн бұрын
I obviously haven’t tested them all (yet) but I’ve barely noticed any smell on the better brands, the worst was Gino’s air fryer

My 68 year old hubby bought it for me because my older cosori model died last week. I can’t live without my air fryer so he quickly went to Amazon and purchased this one. I will be using it for the first time tonight to make burgers. Hopefully it’s great.

Hi Clara, watching a few of your videos as I've just found you today - liked instantly on this one from the comment about impatient people... Although that's definitely me as I'll admit I do watch lots of videos at 2x speed. I'm leaning toward getting this one as a Xmas gift, the larger capacity seems to be a winning feature.

No, definitely not. The Philips is the winner and it’s reduced at the moment amzn.to/3VTkD3P

Definitely seems like the tradeoffs aren't worth it, and the single drawer being that huge - well, it's basically an oven, as you say, and I already have one of those. Good thing, already waiting for the Ninja 400 to be delivered. Seems like the sweet spot, larger than the 300, still dual drawer with great temp control. Considered the models with one drawer larger, but I don't need the lower energy consumption of a tiny drawer enough to limit flexibility - two large almost 5 liter drawers is perfect. Mostly overkill for what I'll do, but again - better to have the size and not need it most of the time, than to need it and not have it.

Absolutely, there’s a reason the 400 is a bestseller!

I do, but I’m always a little hesitant to share that because I think all three of these air fryers are excellent and with the Ninja and Cosori in particular it’s a bit of a Pepsi/Coke thing, some people just prefer one over the other!

Re. having to de-select pre-heat or shake every time, our new dual basket does allow you to change the default behaviour for each function. I'm not sure if it's a recent tweak to the programming, but to do it we - select the relevant function, then set the required default settings eg. temperature, time, preheat off etc, then press and hold the function key again until it beeps - it then stores those settings as the defaults.

Fully peeling the potatoes, then boiling in alkali water, then tossing them pretty hard in a colander results in potatoes with a very fluffy and torn up surface. Roast them as the final step, and you get some pretty special roast potatoes with almost no extra work. The alkali water breaks the surface of them down.

I'm in real danger of falling into that category of having bought one being too intimidated and confused to use it. I do like making sourdough and cakes though so it may yet redeem itself. My wife point blank refuses to eat fries made in it, insisting we use a deep fat fryer. I don't entirely disagree, although it is a bit faffy and obviously less healthy. She's also not a fan of slow cook meats, which is a shame as i like stews etc. And think the pressure cooker side of things could be promising. FYI. The main competitor Instant have an app, that i think the recipes would easily translate to the Ninja. And check out, The Salted Pepper as well, as she really puts these multi cookers through their paces. I have done her popcorn shrimp and they're great

I have an Insta Airfryer and it has an automatic preheat on certain cycles, beeping when it is ready for food to go in and only then the time starts counting down. I find it handy and nope the beeps do not worry me as I have so much going on all the time, it helps to remind me to add or turn food, lol ... or that it's done cooking. But then I live alone, so nobody else to irritate ;-)
@CandidClara4 күн бұрын
Interesting, does it beep when it has completed the time preheating or beep when it has reached temperature? Many do the former, but I haven't actually found any that indicate when they have reached temperature, unless that's yours?

After using my ninja 10 times it took me more than an hour to clean the grease and grime off of the upper heating coil and surrounding area. Ninja customer service had no suggestion about how to clean this area effectively. This is a disposable item terribly engineered without any consideration to keep it clean and reusable. 😢
@CandidClara4 күн бұрын
Do you clean the heating element in your oven?
@CMccurley4 күн бұрын
@ The answer is YES! If grease drips or food drops onto the element the it should be cleaned after cooling with a scratch free scouring pad soaked in a baking soda and water paste. Then finished with a light spraying of white vinegar. This cleaning helps to avoid future odor and bacterial contamination to your future baking. The area around the heating element is ALSO important to keep clean and east to do in a conventional oven but NOT in the air fryer.

This is a generic air fryer with Gino branding. The exact airfryer in black is in Aldi at the moment, and finding out its not on sale for 60 quid a few weeks after we bought it for 90 is annoying. We bought it for the colour. The dual drawers are great and sync finish is nice. The BIG issue I have have is the LOUD beeping. It's infuriating, so loud and it does a 10 second beeping halfway through the cook. I've tried to find out how to turn it off and have looked into taking it apart to remove the beeper. The other minor annoyance is that the timer defaults to 15 minutes, so I'm always having to turn the time down to finish something off for a few mins. And every buttin press is accompanied by the loud BEEP!
@CandidClara5 күн бұрын
You are definitely not the only one to be driven mad by a beeping air fryer! It’s so weird that this is something most manufacturers have overlooked completely!
@McBenjiBoo5 күн бұрын
@@CandidClara From my searching I've found that some have included a mute function, or volume change. I've tried every combination of button presses on this one and I just don't think it's possible. Honestly the loud beep is the reason we've just decided to return the Gino. Looking at getting the Swan retro 4.5l.

Watched this and your accessories video, wonderful straight forward useful information. Had an air fryer for round about 8 years but in the end bought a new one as the handle fell apart a number of times and I decided after fixing it that it had done us well and got a better shaped one with a better handle arrangement. Also replacement parts on so many appliances are priced so high to make an older machine not worth replacing the parts. So much for the green revolution. Thanks again.

I love these tips. I fell into the Silicon insert trap, and they are awful (apart from cake silicon moulds). They don't cook things properly and don't clean very well despite going in the dishwasher. I now use oven-proof dishes and the actual tray. Now I've got a dual air fryer, it makes things easier to cook without the use of inserts.
