Greman but nice try

😅 Really? “GREMAN”? You have convinced me that the Anglosphere really IS this stupid. Franz Joseph Haydn was an Austrian composer of the Classical period. The melody of the "Deutschlandlied", otherwise known as “Der Lied Der Deutchen” was originally written by Haydn in 1797 to provide music to the poem "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser" ("God save Franz the Emperor") by Lorenz Leopold Haschka. The song was a birthday anthem to Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor of the House of Habsburg, and was intended to rival in merit the British "God Save the King". After the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire in 1806, "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser" became the official anthem of the emperor of the Austrian Empire. After the death of Francis II new lyrics were composed in 1854, Gott erhalte, Gott beschütze, that mentioned the Emperor, but not by name. So, this made it ambiguous to which emperor it referred to and was used by various polities. Before the adoption of “Das Lied Der Deutchen” by the German Weimar Republic in 1922, it was already a widely popular song.

The above hymn by the African Americans that one day, nobody will be viewed human on the basis of his or her skin colour, and the prejudice going with it shall have been overcome, is a reality of the peaceful future. We pray that in South Africa too, both Black and White compatriots may ultimately find each other and look forward to a future where one would not regret why he/she is among the living in this country. I pray that the adult population across the colour bar, might not sow the seed of racialism in the innocent minds of our babies so that they may grow as truly human and viewing others in their own country in terms of their humanity despite differences in colour, culture or language of expression. There is no future, absolutely no future for the one regarding his/her colour of skin as superior or inferior to any other colour of somebody's skin. I visualise the time when each one of the citizens of South Africa will learn the language other than his or hers for the sole reason of breaking the barriers that separates compatriots and estranges them from each other. We must however accept that the excercise cannot be without paying the prize of either ostracism from own people; but the prize has to be paid like Martin Luther King and President JF Kennedy had paid it by being assassinated. One day: "We shall overcome", it might not be during our life time but surely we shall overcome any form of inhuman prejudice based on race. LL Leburu.
