A lot of this is my old stomping ground from the 1950s, 60s and 70s in particular when I lived in Poole. It's great to catch a glimpse of the sea. I'm seeing a lot of the smaller and side roads for the first time, and so much has changed along the familiar roads. It's very hard to drive a straight coastal road where the sea can be seen constantly in this area. I saw a video of someone walking through Bournemouth central streets, and some of them looked really ugly and neglected, but this video has shown the high end nature of a lot of the houses close to the shore. The presence of lots of trees gives a Mediterranean and Pacific rim feel. Great video, thanks.

@@drivefilming You drove past my old house which still stands adjacent to the railway bridge on Sandbanks Road. It's the free-standing house on the left where you had to wait for traffic to come through the railway bridge. I did live at 15 Cranborne Crescent on the Bourne Estate when I was at infant and primary schools. Thanks.

At 23:00 Typical annoying wait at a pedestrian crossing after the pedestrian is long gone. No doubt the pedestrian had to wait a long time for the lights to change - as usual - and could walk across during a break in the traffic. Why they don't set the lights to start to change as soon as the pedestrian requests it, I don't understand; had that been the case the lights would likely have been green for you. OK, if there was a stream of cars then maybe wait till thathad passed, but here, typically, there was little traffic.
@drivefilming3 ай бұрын
Agree, or set the sensors to react quicker when cars approaching and there’s no pedestrian in the range…

The Poole Quay Hotel…there is a lift, right by reception, and that is working as they need the clients to go up and down their rooms. Was there another one for suppliers and staff?

Thanks for the video - it covers a lot of my holiday route earlier this year. A tip: try angling the camera down so that the horizon is more than half-way up the screen; currently, when driving south, the picture often looks washed-out/under-exposed because too much of the bright sky is in the picture. Or maybe you can set the camera exposure higher to somewhat burn out the sky, but my cam. doesn't have this facility.
@drivefilming5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, and ultimately for the advice. Will try to adjust the camera to weather / lighting conditions. Good point about horizon alignment; initially I thought capturing more of the skies would be better for viewers as there are some really dramatic skies out there. Keep an eye on this channel, and leave your feedback. Thanks again.

@@drivefilming Agreed, it is nice to see the skies, as occurred to me as I went on with the video - maybe just flip to a lower position when heading into the sun?
