Ok …the t-shirt I’d use as a pj top. The bathing suit to lounge by my pool (that I don’t have) not to ruin my better swimwear.

Reminder when taking advice from these types of videos: overconsumption, even with second-hand items, is still overconsumption. Honestly, just don't feel pressured by time into buying generic, impersonal gifts that you’re not sure the recipient will truly like ❤. These items often take up space, turn into clutter, annoying the recipient, and ultimately end up back at thrift stores. If you’re not at least 90% sure the person will genuinely like the item you consider buying. Instead of contributing to the endless cycle of gifting and regifting unwanted items, try giving the gift of a meaningful experience that don't take up permanent physical space, like a nice meal (whether at a restaurant or at home using kitchenware you ALREADY have) or enjoying a shared activity. While the joy of receiving a thoughtful gift and experiencing something meaningful can both be fleeting, memories and feelings don’t create physical clutter whether it's lasting or not ❤😊...In the first place giving only for the sake of giving and/or because you like shopping isn't really a thoughtful thing to do, last minute or not😂

There was a study done forever ago where they swabbed the grocery carts to see what they could find and some crazy high percentage of the carts swabbed had fecal matter on them. 🤮 We need to figure out a middle ground between the single use plastics and just raw dogging it in the cart.

I'll be honest, fast fashion is only fast for those who buy and throw things away immediately. It is not just the stores who are the problems, is the consumers. Buy whatever you find cute, think of the quality yes, but buy whatever and use it a lot.

Actually, the earrings are something I wear all the time. I have a whole earring collection I have had since middle school. They don't get thrown out unless they break, but even then I try to repurpose them.

I think the name "Environmentalism" feels too detached. It makes the activism seem purely alturistic. Maybe a better label would be "a supporter for the viability of the planet to sustain human life." This would emphasize the self-interested aspect of wanting to have a healthy environment.

@user-gu9yq5sj7c I agree. I wish there was a better term that captured the same spirit. I guess "extinction rebellion" is the closest one.

Because there are groups of people who have made it hated, seems to only matter in the west, I don't see anyone going into the east where they produce the vast majority of pollution and trying to get them to change. It's hard to take anyone seriously when they're posting about this online from a phone/ tablet, or laptop which is another contributing factor in climate change. It's not a hobby if you're only using it for internet clout and to self posture.

No, *but* solar panels are a hell of a lot cheaper than you think, last 25+ years and CAN BE REUSED, and provide electricity that can get you off the grid.

Yall do realize the medical industry needs single use equipment to stay sterile, right? Not saying that plastic is good or shouldn’t be reduced, but you can’t just say “ban it all!” That’s not how it works.
