If you look at the city flag of Detroit, you'll see its Latin mottos, Speramus Meliora and Resurget Cineribus, meaning "We hope for better things" and "It will rise from the ashes." While these refer to the Great Fire of 1805, I think they can apply to the past few decades. Downtown Detroit has rebounded from the ghosttown that it was in the late 2000s, but we needed a chance to show the world and change our narrative. I'm glad that you and thousands of others across America were able to witness for yourselves the great progress we've made since declaring bankruptcy. We hope you come back someday to see what else the Motor City has in store.

Hey Big Dawg! Sucks that the one Tigers game you go to was one of their worse, so far, this season. They went on to win the next 2 games against the Royals. The tram is called The People Mover and it's been made fun of on and off for years, but they really tricked it out and it actually was very useful for this event (and pretty much any event in Hart Plaza.) Glad that the weather was good all 3 days, mid 50s Thursday, mid 60s Friday and around 80 on Saturday...and No Rain! That chrome Colts helmet was Sick! I hate the Chiefs, but that black helmet with the red logo amongst the helmets you were looking at was 🔥 Thanks for coming to D and I truly hope you had an awesome time (despite the darn Tigers losing 😂) Thanks for sharing you experience here!

Hey Big Dawg, glad you made it to Detroit and I hope that you had a great time at the draft and anywhere you went. I went on Day 3 (Saturday,) and was blown away by all the NFL stuff they had, how everything was set up, how easy it was to get in and out, all the various foods, all the VIP places surrounding it. The first thing was the Dodge and Son Fountain. It was recently upgraded, but they kept it off for the event. The Ring looking thing is surrounded by stones and it's called Transcending and is near where MLK gave the first version of his infamous I Have a Dream speech. There also is a tall metal pylon that slightly twists like a strand of DNA which is what it represents, but it also is an homage to the pylons the Egyptians built. Hart Plaza is where all of that is located and they put on concerts and festivals and there are 2 of those areas like where you were and they are generally used as smaller stages for non headline performers.
