Sorry to be the JC nerd, but your viewing experience would've differed had you watched the HK theatrical cut which focused more on the drama, cut out some of the fight scenes and more importantly, more dramatic and appropriate music. What you watched was the Japanese version. At the time, Japan demanded more fight scenes with Jackie and him singing theme songs. The music doesn't match the tone of the film. Great reaction though!
