What a joke wasting money on these stupid ads. AT YOUR A JOKE

Spare us the hyperbole. I had years in excavated and bored underground services in trafficked carriageways and no way is the extent of cones, trucks etc now justifiable. Safety yes, but you guys have gone WAY over the top. No wonder NZ productivity is crap. Also, a number of "workers" wouldn't know a decent day's work if it kicked them in the backside which AT and its contractors are too timid to do.

They won't be gone, their role is just being reduced.
@geditt1907Ай бұрын
@ I watch the news there will be no Auckland transport but it’s going to the local board to look after the transport also what makes things there’s thousands of complaints from customers plus myself they didn’t help Aucklanders all but money hungry
@rp7784Ай бұрын
@geditt1907 incorrect. Auckland transport will no longer be involved in deciding transport projects or transport plans, they will no longer deliver the construction of transport or infrastructure projects and they will no longer be maintaining roading networks. Their roles will however be delivering and maintaining transport services and financing, but that's it. They aren't being shut down completely, their role is being reduced to service delivery operations. So you probably misheard and misread what the News was reporting because Wayne Brown and council have specifically stated that their role will be reduced.
@rp7784Ай бұрын
@@geditt1907 You can look it up also, Auckland transport will still be responsible for delivering infrastructure services but they will no longer be responsible for strategy, policy and long term planning of transport. That will now be the responsibility of Auckland and local councils.

AT do suck up a lot of taxpayer dollars, wrh their escalating budgets for every project they take on... but if it improves the commute, making public transport more practical, then I guess I am all for it. What about these ridiculous '$ half a million each' speed humps they keep putting on the roads... has anyone investigated why it is costing taxpayers so much money for an annoying little Hump?

Its only better for our environment if the trains are full to capacity every single journey
@peashootercat2 ай бұрын
do cars usually transport four people every single journey?
@rp77842 ай бұрын
Not necessarily, car's are rarely at full capacity, yet they require more space, more infrastructure, more expense and more energy relative to average occupancy. Train's don't need to be full at every commute to out perform car's.

It's still a huge gap that there's no train to the Shore. Tunnel from Britomart to Devonport, rails up to Takapuna and terminating in Albany, serving all suburbs along the way. Think big New Zealand.

You really think those stingy rich people will want a station in Devonport? thats hilarious the bus way is better because it serves for local busses too they use it. much more affective than a train thats stuck in one spot
@WaffleCake-q7d2 ай бұрын
@milkydildos Trains benefit car drivers and busses too. An Auckland train can move about 20,000 people per hour. I'm sure "stingy rich people" would love to have empty roads to drive their cars on! A good city moves its people efficiently - the workers are the ones generating GDP. If the city is clogged, people can't work as long, can't output as much (like build as many things in factories) and less gst for the govt as a result. If people can move quickly and freely, we all win and the entire country does better. Countries with poor infrastructure don't so as well as countries with ease of people movement. We are terrible at large infrastructure projects in New Zealand. Traffic in Auckland is misery inducing and the powers that be can't think big to fix the problems. Borrow the billions needed and let's get on with freeing up the city.
@HabitualFixationАй бұрын
If we can't even decide on an alternative to the bridge that could take a while. Agreed though, need to think progressive and aligned no matter what political party is at the helm
@cricketstar1906Ай бұрын
If a train network to North existed it would be great. However, the cost to build this would be inconceivably high. Thinking big is all good, but do you mind paying big in taxes, rates?? NZ is a small country, with such a similes population there is only so much we can do. Also raises the point that we can't compare ourselves with larger countries like US. Japan, Australia etc. They are much bigger than us.
@mrurquhart91382 ай бұрын
Looking good AT team! I can't wait for 2026 to roll around so that AT can finally announce that the project has been delayed until 2028. Who knows what other exiting projects are in the pipeline? Maybe by 2124 we'll finally get an Eastern Line service that actually services East Auckland! In all seriousness this is still pretty cool. Also yeah I know that infrastructure projects of this scale, especially in small nations like ours, are by their very nature quite challenging, especially when it comes to ballooning costs and other pressures. I guess we all just hoped it would've been finished by now. If anything, watching this project shuffle along has been a valuable lesson in expectations vs reality.

I'd love to see how it will reduce journey times when I'm stuck on a rail replacement bus because AT doesn't run train services properly. Why don't you just work on getting traffic lights to help buses make the trains so I don't miss the train every time I catch the bus into Panmure? How haven't you thought of this already?!?
