I’m wondering the same thing. We buy ham bones for our dogs at the store so what’s the difference?

Mr. Atkinson was a wonderful teacher. He served his students and gave his full attention to their development. My roots as a drummer were first established through his leadership. He helped me read a drum part and was vital in my development. Even though I left and moved on his help was truly most appreciated later in my life after I grew up and realized his gift to me. I passed his love of teaching to my students in elementary education. These were special moments in my life which will never be forgotten. I thank his family for their care in those years I spent at Middlesex. The roots go deep and the appreciation for years passed are imprinted on my heart. Rest in peace Mr. A.

I like the c clamp and board trick to keep the blade from spinning while tightening. And on the negative comments, people expect big budget video quality on a dime store budget, then there’s the ones who think you should only cater to their specific issue they are wanting to solve. Keep making videos, learn as you go. The quality will improve as you keep helping others with tips.

Right Joe, keep in mind this video is several years old. When I was looking for information on getting surfaces to paint on I couldn't find any so I did this (cut the boards) for my better half at the time, (she has since passed away). I now see there are several videos out there and I guess using a utility knife would work. Additionally here are the two video that are really good with links from 2017 & 2018: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnuvmZiMjKtoi5o & kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6bbqIJtaJ52oqc

Mr. A - Mr. Atkinson was and will always be one of the most important persons in my life. Years later did I realize this and I am sure he has filled that role for many other students. I have been blessed knowing him and his memory will live on with the many students he taught. I have visited the college and went looking for the little band building that we rehearsed in but unfortunately the building was removed. Well, memories can not be removed and am grateful for them. Enjoy the music and many thanks Mr. A ---

Milton - It is so great to hear this and see these images. Would you believe I joined a community choir in Hillsborough 2 years ago and Martha Dudich (our accompaniest at EHS at that time) is the director! It's a small world and thanks to Mr. Hughes legacy I am enjoying singing now more than ever. Thank you for posting this. :) Nancy Ellison (formerly Messina)

Hardboard can also be scored and snapped using a simple utility knife, just score both faces and snap off, works surprisingly well, and no sawdust either.

Frank, no need for a negative comment, (I was just trying to help or provide information) but, this is the same reply that I gave to others... I didn't get a chance to really follow up on the type of blade other than to see that it was not a diamond cut blade. I believe it was just a general purpose wood blade (since the Masonite board is just compressed board). Also if you did not notice, while changing the blade, I actually had a wide blade on the saw for ripping or cutting railroad ties (at 1:45 min. into the video). You will also notice, sitting in the box, the blade I switched to had smaller teeth and again , I believe it was just a general purpose wood blade.

@bill bixly, or whomever you are... "Not really", we were able to get our quote(s) from quite a few HVAC contractors / Heating people. The "smoke" issues was actually "Steam". No cracked boiler, just a leaky / broken valve that let water / steam get to the bottom of the furnace. After a valve change, re-check of all systems, including a few more replacement parts, (just to be on the safe side) we were good to go. Hoping again to make it again, through another winter!

So a diamond cut blade is the best blade to use when cutting these temperd hardy boards??
@bugzemo

Suzanne, I used the diamond cut blade for "Slate Cutting" (Cutting Roofing Slate). My better half also does painting Slate (Slate Garden Signs). I will have to recheck which type of blade I used since this video is a few years old. I'll check back with you in a few days. Milt

Good timing! I was wanting to try cutting on it again this morning. I had the same thoughts as you about using blade for cutting wood because of the material it's made from, so I'm going to try that, thanks for your help. 😀

Milt, I have a drawing in PDF of a stamping/punch press die set that needs completed and revised so that it can be sent to the machine shop. There are many incorrect locations and several other errors. The person working on it was doing it all incorrectly. The ISO/Assembly drawing is upside down and backwards. I can send you a complete & correct X/Y hole location schedule/table in GoogleDocs Spreadsheet or Excel or in a table in Word. I can send you the PDF that was completed. I need a copy of the resulting DWG/DXF, etc files. Can you do this?

For us (my better half) the smooth side faces down since we are marking up, or measuring on the rough side. I don't know if she is using oils or acrylics but she does prefers to work on the smooth side. I know there are some artist that prefer to work on the rough side however, they are also using gesso to prepare the painting surface. With that in mind, I would always keep the rough side facing up, and the smooth side down. Keep in mind the board is on another piece of plywood for protection.

The reason for posting this video is to point out that the GSP tolls in some cases "STILL" are not working after a large promotion to record & photograph license plates of driver if you do not pay the toll. My gripe is how can you enforce a fine, or penalty if the toll booth (s) still are not working?
