I started teaching dance once my instructor moved to another state. I have this one friend who comes to all my classes and I felt touched that she would be so loyal to me. But eventually she wanted to teach dance too. She did but it was frustrating for her because she finally knows it isn’t easy to get students if you don’t put in the work. So she started marketing herself in my classes to my students. Eventually my students went to her class too. Although my students still come to my classes, I felt robbed. Anytime there was a new student, I’d end up seeing them in HER classes too. So I told her it did not sit right with me and eventually she stopped coming to my classes. By then, the students she managed to get from my classes are consistent dancers in her classes. However, she began copying my style of dance, genre, modules etc. For eg: I have been teaching heels and burlesque since the beginning. She started with modern jazz which eventually evolved to heels too. Song choice, style, dance vocab… all similar. Part of me doesn’t blame her because she did come for my classes so it was inevitable that her methods will be similar. However, add that to how she ‘poached’ students from my classes… it didn’t sit right with me. I do not know what to do but work harder (in silence) and move forward. Hoping with all my might that I could shake her out of my life one day. With this issue hanging on my head, sometimes I feel my students can feel my annoyance with them going to two instructors for classes.

I’m completely obsessed with ducks for two years I’ve been making mini ones out of clay I hide them in the teachers class rooms and give them out to people also there’s one other girl who bought a pack of those cheap Amazon ducks I know who she is but not enough for me to talk to her about it I don’t know what I should do because I’m known as the person who likes ducks so everyone thinks it’s me my ducks take lots of times and effort to make and she just goes and buys them I can’t talk to my freinds about it because their her freinds so I have no idea what to do I know it’s silly but I’m so tired of it if someone could give me advice I would really appreciate it
