Damn, im just scratching my head on this one. Very immobile goalie and they put it into the chest everytime. Am i missing something? Tough game man. Love the videos.

Do you find that playing D gives you any insight to your goaltending? Are you more concious of your positioning as a defenseman, for screens and rebounds and stuff?

Absolutely. I have become a much better defenseman from playing goalie. I hadn't skated out in a couple months before this game, so I was quite rusty, but I was still able to avoid screening our goalie. I am also more aware of what is or isn't a high danger scoring chance, so I try my best to take away the higher percentage shot as a defenseman.

18 white is an absolute bender out there. Goes after the guy for admittedly an ugly push and does an all time flop. Goes after another guy for a little tap in the shins and gets buried. Wraps his arms around a guy going into the boards and his stick breaks because of the impact and he throws his arms up like he didn’t put himself in that position. Extra hacks all over the place while wearing a cage. Multiple shots into the goalies chest. Weakest ankles around. The epitome of can give it but can’t take it. Guy erks me like crazy. I need a life

refs had zero control of this game whatsoever. The crosscheck into the boards after the whistle should've been an IMMEDIATE "get your shit and go the fuck home, you're done for tonight". No questions asked

The white team constantly went over the top and finally the black team had enough. Black 17 should have been ejected at 6:42, but I get it, their team had consistently been trashed for 2 periods while the refs did nothing. White 22 and white 4 both should have had penalty minutes. White 22 would have been ejected in my league for that crap at 5:50 and then again at 5:58 after a stoppage of time. All this while this is a freaking beer league and they are winning. Garbage team to play against. Probably a bunch of players who can't get on other teams because they are rotten people. Most rinks have 1 of these garbage teams. On top of all that, when the white goalie got hurt, not a single teammate of his checked on him, the black team came to his side. Everything you need to know about that team.

In the leagues I play in, most of those after whistle infrations would have been suspensions and possibly fines. Despite all that I think you did a solid job against a pretty strong team.

Cross ice feeds (basically a 2 on 1) are arguably the most difficult save for goaltenders. You're playing it right being square to the shooter. Defense is supposedly denying the pass. Some excellent goaltending at both ends in this game.

Those were tough for sure. I just missed the third one, which was a bit of a bummer. I probably could have been a little deeper in my crease on the first one. The other goalie had a good game but let in a couple bad angle shots that ended up being the difference
