yeah your run was verified 17min into my run lol. You see it in my livesplit info. Thanks, you gotta beat me right back. This hack will probably make it into the romhack league so we gotta give the guys a challenge :D

@@Majora-y1v The Rom Hack League is a ~2month event where the community determines some cool hacks - old and new - and everybody who is interested can then run this game and earn points for PBs and better rankings. The goal is to populate the leaderboards with more people for hacks that do not have many people there yet. This hack has good chances to make it in and there are some quite talented runners out there who will hunt this record down for good ! I left a link in the video description for a discord server where the SM64 Rom Hack community comes together. Check the Announcements for further infos about the hack league :)

Edit: Since some people asked me why i surrender certain duels - Here's the explanation: This game has very tight strategies which involve beating opponents fast, prevent own capsule monsters from destruction (which would render them unusable in the next duel, ruining more strats) and destroying certain opponent monsters so we can acquire them after the victory. Most of the strats require you to go first since it's a big advantage, especially with the big movement range from my electro monsters. My opponent going first makes certain duels impossible to beat with the required strats, including Mokuba, Mai, Marik, Duke, Tea, Yami Bakura and probably some more. The only way to keep the run going is to surrender the duel as soon as possible and start over, hoping to win the next coin flip.

I've read that there is a 1.1 release of Dr. Mario GB that fixes the lv 28 softlock and lets you proceed up through lv 30, where it loops. Do you know if that's true?

Yes it is. I have GB Dr.Mario on my 3DS via eShop and using save states I got to lvl.30 The pieces start to move really slow with rare but short burst of super high speed. Once you beat lvl.30 it doesen't go up to lvl.31 it just restarts lvl.30 again with slow moving pieces with sudden bursts of high speed.

Those speedrun strategies mostly rely on me going first in a duel. My opponent going first most likely result in the duel taking 5+ turns longer, my pieces getting destroyed (making it unavailable for the next duel, ruining strats) or me unable to win at all. Unfortunately some enemies like Mokuba always go first when they win the coin flip so the fastest way to recover from this is to play until the first round and surrender the duel, starting over and try the coin flip again. In this run it happened multiple times on Mokuba, Mai and Marik.

@@cylonrayzr2742 I've gone onto to play the game all the way through 25-30 times. Hardest battle is Ishizu 2 or Bakura 1 oddly enough 🤣 what do you think?

@@heythere1900 I personally, back when I played the game, found Marik 1 to be the most difficult for some reason. As a child i couldnt even get past him. Then when I was like 12 or so, I played the game again. Overall Id say Marik 1 is imo the most difficult and then Pegasus 2. The easiest battle, considering that it takes place in late game, is Marik 2. He is so much easier in the second battle, even though its in area 4.

@@cylonrayzr2742 I agree honestly. I had Marik 1 up there, he likes to stall and bait you in. I always try to clear as many of the blocks you stand on to made him take the 50 damage a turn if his pieces go in it. I think the computer figures that's what you're trying to do then goes full turtle strat

@@heythere1900 Im gonna be honest, I didnt even know until now, that the Stage can damage the pieces lol. I know they move but I never got into a situation where either his or my pieces took damage. Nice to learn something after over 10 years haha.

My PB is 8 hours. This is absolutely incredible. EDIT it's now 5:30:52 but still not tried the electric masterclass.

This level looks extremely easy because there's no quicksand, lava, or any hazardous pits anywhere, and I feel like that this level is a very safe beach park for little kids to play in, imagine, there are two 6 year olds named danny and Katie and their parents drive them to the seaside village, would they have a lot of fun?
