Yes, but….. it is more likely the thermal sensor tripped and shut the vacuum off. Wait 30 min and let the vacuum cool and then test it. If it starts back up then there could be too much restriction in the vacuum causing it to shut off. I don’t change many switches on these vacuums. The number one issue i have is the motors going out or the power plug. Check to see if the prongs are burnt. That is also very common

My vaccum suddenly stopped. When I pressed on the switch, it won't turn on. How do I know which part of the vaccum I need to replace?
@jcsequipmentrepair613014 күн бұрын
Wait about 30 min. You might have restriction on the vacuum causing the thermal switch to shut the vacuum off. Make sure your filters are clean if that’s the case. Also take a look at the power plug and see if 1 or 2 of the prongs are black and burnt. If so, you’ll need to replace the plug. You can also test it with a multimeter which I’m planning to make a video very soon.

How do you know if it needs to be a plug replacement or a power cord and switch replacement?

I replaced the switch assembly and vacuumed for 2 hours and now it doesn’t want to turn on. My power cord is getting power but when I turn the switch on, it doesn’t turn on.
@jcsequipmentrepair61307 ай бұрын
It’s probably the thermal switch. Make sure it’s clear of debris and has a new bag in it. A lot of restrictions and heat will cause it to shut off until it’s cool.

Our prongs keep burning up in the extension cord. Is this a manufacturing issue?
@jcsequipmentrepair6130 Жыл бұрын
It must be I spoke to a rep from pro team and what they told me was that the cord we were using was maybe being tugged or not set correctly which I think is BS. At this point I’m not sure what’s going on. I do know we have had many issues with these

Is the switch a common cause for the unit going on and off every few minutes? I have a unit that almost seems like it goes into a thermal overload protection shutting itself off
@jcsequipmentrepair6130 Жыл бұрын
Might be an internal short on the switch but most likely it’s the thermal protector because it feels too much restriction. I’ve had that happen more often

Is the switch the main issue when a short happens? I plugged it into a wall outlet at a clients office and a huge spark flashed and my vacuum wouldn't turn on anymore.
@jcsequipmentrepair61304 ай бұрын
Usually it’s the plug itself. It starts to ark pretty easy when it’s a little loose (what proteam told me) so make sure the extension have a tight fit with the plug

@jcsequipmentrepair61302 жыл бұрын
Part wise? Or just hooking it up?
@Treefoxxi2 жыл бұрын
@@jcsequipmentrepair6130 I can get it hooked up, and It feels like water gets into the hose but it's not coming out the end of the wand, the hose does feel like it has a pressure to it, like it gets tight, but no water comes out the end. If I don't hook up the hose and I just flip the lever on the machine to run the water out that spigot it works, so I think it's just the wand
