Yeah I agree man. One of the best I’ve ever played and it has a beautiful umbrella profile by the way. It’s one of those cymbals I don’t think I will ever part with❤

I don't care what anyone says, these "sizzle" rides were everything!! Only thing for me, patina be damned, I'm cleaning those cymbals thoroughly!! No debate. I dont care if that very cymbal was used on countless *Bluenote records... a reset is a must to get it to sound out its truest tone! ❤ I kept "Buckaroo" cymbal cleaner on deck in the 90's. Although it may have burnt my lungs a little bit..😬 (definitely should've worn a mask 😷 Lol)

This one is a real special one. When I received it, it had a gaping hole at the bell and the cymbal would skip off the cymbal stand post and the cymbal would end up unbalanced resting in that large hole. I sent it to an expert who repaired it by taking matching b20 bronze cymbal material and welding it into the hole-rebuilding the bell. Also some history on that 22”…It belonged to Atlanta area drummer Rodney Burruss, who drummed for the band Four Souls active in the 1970s-80s. Four Souls featured R&B legend Charles Brown. As far as cleaning the cymbals goes-I’d have to disagree. The uncleaned ones with the most patina tend to be the best sounding cymbals to my ears

@JulianBerkowitzDrums Mad respect 🙏🏽 to you. Thanks also for the history lesson on its past owner and funk band. About to look them up. As far as those wicked holes caused by missing bottom felt washers, quite often are the cause of what I ignorantly determined was irreparable damage. Glad you knew what it took to repair such a find. Is that last part about the metric weight of the cymbal, correct? 4+ lbs?! Before hanging up the sticks, I started wearing a cymbal backpack that carried up to 22."

@@danielwatson7091 thanks man! yeah it’s a shame that hole developed sometime in the cymbal’s life (it was made in Istanbul sometime between 1945 and 1949). It’s a really nice sounding cymbal - I think it should be making music! And yessir, it weighs 2264g, so just about 5lbs! I ditched the cymbal backpack recently and have been using this haha.
