The lead couple does a turn and a half then alternately the lead couple does a turn with the opposite side (girl with boy, boy with girl) and a half turn with partner before moving to the next opposite (boy and girl). The lead couple does a half turn at the end then slides back to the head of the lines. It is usually that first turn and a half that confuses the dancers.

I hope you know how much happiness watching this brings to me. I keep it bookmarked and watch it when I need a smile. Thank you. I would love to see the same kids get together and see them now.

2nd grade? These kids are advanced. Our class did this in the spring dance - 4th grade 1974. We must've been pretty good, I don't remember many glitches, did this in front of the whole school, then with parents, family and the public attending.

Has anyone found the music for this song? I've been searching high and low on the internet and can't find it. Help appreciated as one of the teachers at my school would like to use the same song. I tried extracting the audio but I can't make it much better.

Here in Philippines, if you look down at the floor, your final score would be deducted. Well, that depends if your PE Teacher is too strict

appreciate the recognition and effort put into this dance as a filipino myself but ngl this a little bit american/whitewashed. 1. It's not in the right pattern this is 2/4, tinikling should be in 3/4 ( waltz pattern ) 2. The song was westernized, ( pls keep it traditional ) 3. Why the socks, those are hazards unless they have grippers at the bottom 4. Use Bamboo 5. The movements are messy/ they keep stopping after crossing/ must be consistent 6. DONT LOOK AT THE FLOOR, you must look happy and smile at your partner while dancing 7. Can Americans please have some cultural sense when doing these types of dances. Look at some videos of it please. 8. I'm offended as our tradition was whitewashed legit like AHHHHHHH 9. PLS DO IT RIGHT NEXT TIME. And, don't whitewash other traditional folk dances like this one

Yes, sadly they are not correctly tapping in 3/4 time rhythm, but rather in 2/4 and it ends up sounding like "we will rock you" But other than that, they did a wonderfully committed and focused job
