Thanks Allison, I was able to see the date taken for some of my photos when I added the field (thank-you), but some of the photos I uploaded from my phone to my laptop (actually to the OneDrive cloud storage) had blank entries for date taken- thinking my next step is a photo organized software (?)

Distracting and unnecessary background noise ("music") spoils a useful video.

why is there background music? Why!!!!

Will downloaded photos contain metadata e.g. date created, location, and info you may have added manually e.g. description or keywords? Requesting Apple is undoubtedly the easiest way but you’ll lose organization i.e. no albums. Exporting albums (or folder/album hierarchy, if you’ve created one) can be done with a third-party app like Photos Takeout.

My husband and I have tons of digital photos, but worse, we have boxes and boxes of regular photos, our own as well as those left behind by our parents. How do you suggest we reasonably and inexpensively digitize them?

Wow, great info, thanks BUT *incredibly* distracting music, I had to stop listening (sorry!). Music does not help informational videos in my estimation, it just makes it harder to concentrate on what is being said. You seem to do nice, informative videos but I would gently suggest considering dropping background music entirely. I doubt it adds anything useful. (Thanks for the info in the video, though , as far as i was able to stick with it!)

I can't concentrate on what you are saying. The music is too loud. I would remove completely the music. I hate when there's music and voice at the same time. But here, it is very anoying, the content seems interesting and i can't understand because of the music!

I just switched from Windows to Mac. I need to organize all of my photos from an event or photoshoot by Date and Time taken as I have multiple cameras that I use at any one time, and I need them in order. Since Finder can't do this, is there a substitute for Finder? I don't want to have to import all photos in Lightroom, necessarily, due to time constraints, but almost always order my pics by date taken. I think this simple thing is unacceptable for Mac especially since a lot of photographers use them.

WHY ARE PHOTOS FROM SHUTTERFLY SO MUCH MORE MEMORY??? When I took a picture with my iphone 10 and send it to my computer. I looked at the properties and it took up 2.25 MB. Then I downloaded a picture from my phone to shutterfly and then downloaded that same picture from shutterfly to my computer and the same pictures property was 7.62 MB. Why is the same picture almost triple the size, just by going through shutterfly? The quality doesn’t seem to be any better.

This is exactly what I do; good to know that I'm not the only one:) The only issue is that if you store your photos and videos also on Google Drive, you generally have to pay extra for the storage space, whereas Google Photos doesn't count toward your storage limit (with some exceptions).
