Thanks so much for this video! I have the same blower and it was surging and backfiring. I removed the carb and cleaned it using carb cleaner and a small wire that fit into the jets. The jet under the governor adjustment screw ended up being plugged from what i could tell. I also removed and cleaned the fuel tank, shut off valve and lines. Went with non ethanol fuel this time around and it purrs like a kitten. Thanks again for the video!

Three years ago I thought I had enough space in my toolchest for any tool I might want to acquire or actually need. Then I doubled that space with more toolchests. Did that help? NOPE! Let’s face it - TOO MUCH IS NEVER ENOUGH! 😂🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧👍 PS-That not only goes for tools. It also goes for parts and it definitely goes for space in which to work. 😉

I’m gonna sneak into your shop some night and replace every feeler gauge with ones that are only marked in thousandths. I have watched dozens (actually, probably hundreds) of videos from guys above the border and none of them call out the numbers in metric, so I don’t think Canadians really mind. That includes Jake, Dony, Don and Steve. (Guys on the other side of The Ponds don’t really matter. No offense, Mick and Tom!) 😂 Maybe you should take a poll. Just sayin’. (Or mind my own beeswax!) 😉

@@hester781 D’oh! 😉 Maybe state ours first and only afterwards state metric? I don’t mind both, only mind when you state metric but don’t say it’s metric or label it as millimeters. This could definitely lead to confusion and mistakes for newbies. My preference, if you’re going to use metric, is to display that clearly in the titles but stick to calling it out in thousandths. That’s my $.02 and I’m stickin’ to it! 😂

I have a generator with a Honda clone and the parts manual lists that cap on the end of the valve as a "Valve Rotator" specified as a exhaust valve only part. I found this out when adjusting the valves and noticed the intake didn't have one. Pretty sure it's on other Hondas.

If I spot a cracked purge bulb then it’s an automatic full service replacement of all lines and bulb. Same goes for stiff or broken lines. That way I have a baseline for the next time the piece comes in - no guessing about when one line will go next. I also automatically replace the metering diaphragm. So far I’ve found one pump diaphragm with a hairline crack I only spotted by holding it up to a light, so now I examine all of them that way in addition to looking at the reeds for flatness and the section over the collection area for too large of a bulge.

JD, there’s a sailboat rigging hardware tool called a snatch block. It opens on one side so you can place anywhere along a line to pull from a different direction. You could tie one onto that tree to change the direction of pull when getting equipment off the trailer if you can’t line up directly with the ramp. Also useful for many other things. Find a used one at a used boat supply place. Just make sure the sheave can take wire rope occasionally without wearing out.

Funny, I thought the same as someone else about the lightness of your lifting chain when I first saw it, but after a while it seemed to be holding up okay so I forgot about it. I’m still trying to recall where I’ve seen that push mower lifting bar before. I’m confused. You’re talking about carb issues in the comments and you replaced the carb, but it seemed like you were saying the thermal choke sensor was the issue just before you mounted the carb. The thermal is dead easy to replace but you didn’t do that. If I had to guess from what I saw, I’d say it might have been the clogged pilot jet was the culprit.
@hester781
@hester781 11 күн бұрын
What I said in the video was the thermal choke was working just fine, as soon as it turned off the choke it didn't have enough fuel to keep running. That's why it would always run good for him for about a minute or so and then die out. This is my neighbors Machine and he had gone through this carb several times himself and was convinced that it could not be cleaned/saved and so he just wanted to throw a new carb on it so I wasn't going to fight him 👍🏻

Time to make up a set of installation studs to use when doing those carbs. I’ve used a pair of wooden dowels and promised myself next time I get on one of those carbs I’ll pull one stud and either cut the heads off a couple bolts or get to the hardware store for some correct size rod to cut and thread and paint with holes in one end to tie them together so they don’t go walkabout.
