Hi Pamela, grateful to have found your work! I'm a therapist and recently took one of your courses hosted on PESI and it was very inspiring and helpful. I wanted to be an art therapist first before becoming a counselor but the school I was planning on going to ended up shutting down. Your course reminded me that Im an artist first, a therapist second, and that I can still integrate the two in my practice with others. THANK YOU! Blessings.

@@hayesarttherapy so I wonder how you can say yours is the best.....also, on another point, many such courses are Internationally Accredited which means (after one hour) students can a) print their own Diploma b) change the qualification and thus put Art Therapist and c) start practice. Of course the accreditation is rubbish but no-one does anything about it - and the Diploma looks good! It is so dangerous!

I certainly can't paint like you do, but I like crocheting, learning how to knit, a little bit of drawing and coloring. Btw I have bipolar type 2 and Adhd, so its hard for me not get distracted or bored.

I have a question? Recently I heard a artist say on u tube, it’s better to start and finish your work,like in one focused timeframe or more, I have ADD, grief from losing my spouse and depression, I always have so many pieces of this or that unfinished, I work on them as my mood and energy level allows,It sounded like I would lose some kind of learning curve if I did multiple projects? what do you think? I hope u understand what I’m asking
@hayesarttherapy3 ай бұрын
Thank you for asking this question. It's important to keep in mind that everybody has a very different approach to their own creativity. For some, it's important to have a goal and bring that goal to completion. For other people, just getting lost in the art materials and being playful is enough. You have to ask yourself, am I getting anything out of my creativity, or is it just another thing that I never complete? Am I stuck in that cycle? Do I need to push myself out of my comfort zone and complete a project, or do I need to allow myself to just enjoy starting projects, with no intention of having some final piece? Are you having fun? Are you learning anything from the process? Only you know these answers.

Hi there. I am new to your channel. I think that I will go and get a sketch book and try drawing. I do have a coloring book but I am bipolar type 2 and ADHD, so I get bored easily and distracted.

I feel like I could be one of your clients, but I wanna help others. Can I help others with this course? Since it takes 4 years to become an art therapist?
@hayesarttherapy2 ай бұрын
We should all be helping others in anyway that we can. I believe that's why we're here on this planet. It depends on what capacity you use this course. You could help yourself and then share it with others. If you are a licensed psychotherapist, and then want to incorporate some of the art activities with your clients, you can certainly do that. But this course does not certify you to be, an art therapist. As you said, it's many many years of schooling.

Would love to know why you asked her to not change the colour?
@hayesarttherapy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking - I do that to demonstrate that it is all about our own perception, SHE chose the color red and SHE determined it was a negative color. But she can also choose to see red as a positive - THAT is what we have control over. The whole explanation is clearer when you watch the entire episode (available for purchase on my website - HayesArtTherapy.com)

You say this is the best Art Therapy course. I had a look on Udemy and it certainly seems good BUT I have seen two other courses. One for 1.5 hours that makes you an Art Therapist and one for 104 hours that has 500 exercises. So how can I choose which one? How does one know what is 'the best'?
@marykrigbaum90216 ай бұрын
Which one did you choose?
@MrChrisosl6 ай бұрын
@@marykrigbaum9021 Any course that tells you that you can be an art therapist in one hour is a complete scam, a lie, a hoax. The 104 hours one is so much better.
@hayesarttherapy2 ай бұрын
There is no way that ANY course on Udemy can certify you as an Art Therapist - please be very cautious of anyone who says otherwise. To become an Art Therapist, you must attend a full masters degree program, from an accredited Art therapy school, and complete 3000 postgraduate supervised hours. Just like you can watch a course on psychology on Udemy, but you cannot become a psychologist. I can't imagine that there are any courses on here to me that are 104 hours, but maybe there are. Check to see if the content from ANY course that is titled, Art therapy is presented by a trained and board certified Art Therapist.

Or if you could simply let me know Why do you scribble and has it been helpful to you in any way? If yes, how? Thankyou for your time.

Do you train other qualified professionals in this technique? Do you feel a person would have to be an art therapist to practice this? I am a naturally creative licensed alcohol and drug counselor, I feel my clients could benefit from this and have incorporated creative arts successfully in the past. Thanks for your time.
