So many people try to decipher the lyrics to this one but it might be harder than they think because it might be confined to a particular timeline because things were so different in the world when this song was written. As a Gen Xer it means different thing to me than it might to a millennial or Gen Zer

@@diadorim273 It's a deep philosophical and somewhat religious to me but I'm sure it means many things to many different people which is perfectly ok because what I read into it might be wrong

@26:08 Who cares what form the sentiment comes from? The song isn't saying that baptism will solve your problems, it's just the form it came in the case of this story. Being annoyed at the religious perspective sounds petty to me. Religion is how these lessons were passed down all throughout history, especially regarding questions of life and death, and you want that dissociated from a personable story Kendrick wrote? I think you need to give religion a fair perspective even if you don't believe it.

It's a loose reference to the hall of fame musician/actor Tom Waits who both did the intro part for the recorded version, but was also neighbors with Les (the bass player) at the time.

Amazing band. This whole album is really solid. Insomnium never slacks. Definitely suggest zen-ing out sometime and blasting this album in some good headphones. I think Revelations is my favorite track from this album, followed by Black Heart Rebellion.

Les Claypool is not only the most entertaining musician of all time, but I would argue also the most bad ass bass player of all time hands down!

The whole album is brilliant. It came out when I was 12 but I didn’t know it was 🔥🔥🔥 because I was chasing prince for like 35 years. Metallica is like the musical love child of Black Sabbath and Motörhead.

how Les sings and plays the bass at the same time always amazes me...What a TIGHT 3 piece band and of course we all realize Les is a Legend on the bass. As Tony Baker would say "we never KNEW"

This song is Chris's homage to Down By the River by Neil Young. The lyrics are similar in the chorus. Neil Young sings about "Down by the River, I shot my Baby"...
