Even if there had been contact, the wall would have hit John, not John hitting the wall. One of the best racers ever.

If there was no marks on the car then there was no contract with the wall . Because concrete and steel beats fiberglass everytime .

Threw all his other gear down except for his helmet, which he knew could bounce and possibly hit someone standing nearby. A true class act through the years.

It's funny to me that they do 37 dry hops, peeling the sticky off the tire, heating the clutch & engine. They would have been quicker by not doing that...

Force didn't run his flapper like that when he was hungry and not winning a race. That said, he has a legit point ... if the headers nor body showed any signs of "hitting the wall", he didn't hit the wall. Wasn't too long after that when Austin Coil went back to the trailer after getting John in the beams.

I wish I stayed out in Cali as a little kid.I wasn't into drag racing back then but I was literally across the street from Riverside Raceway and I used to sneak in almost daily to watch road racing Can am,NASCAR,SCCA you name it.Riverside did have sand drags but that's totally not like NHRA.Now I live in New Hampshire and my daughter and I go to the NHRA nationals every year and Epping is not right across the street but 20mins.away.lol

I suppose this is a dumb question but, Did the Prostock cars use torque converters or some type of clutch and how many shifts do they generally make during a run?
@CompetitionPlusTV4 күн бұрын
@@qibble455 - not a dumb question at all. They used a Lenco - a planetary transmission
