So girl stole it. Sold it to some dude on Craigslist. Who then Sold it on eBay. And dude from South Carolina completely wiped it lol. Btw everything he said about consultation stuff and it having a tracker was complete bullshit. He did however have personal data on a bunch of kids from his class, like contact information, etc. The only reason they found out where it went is because they looked at previous sold listings for laptops on eBay. The person who originally stole it never got caught.

So everyone who didn't steal the computer paid a lot of tuition money to miss a portion of a class to get yelled at

This is a bluff. If they knew who took it they would already have it back. Take better care of your stuff, thieves are everywhere.

Once you graduate College, you see professors for what they are. Snobby Noobs who like to be feared and admired by kids. Shut the hell up prof, if everything is so clear and proven already, why go through this BS.

I would have known this was a bluff because NO WAY such critical or sensitive data would be saved on some random laptop that's unsecured regardless of his work.....still ... Stop cheating students.... c'mon.... do your own work....
@f4ephilosophy69125 күн бұрын
This was a VERY good bluff, and if I stole the laptop I may even be scared. Truth is though if they had all this they wouldn't bother telling the person, they would just get them. Why? You have now given them a heads up and good reason to do absolutely whatever it takes to put that laptop somewhere it will never be found and say "I didnt do it" till your mouth gets tired. You removed the likelihood that they may have been sloppy when they will now be on high alert.

I just came across this. Unreal. LOL, the FBI, CIA, everyone is coming after a laptop thief. So hundreds of millions worth of information on your computer just for anyone to open? What a loser. I bet the KFC recipe is on there too. Colonel will be pissed.
@sweeabn673626 күн бұрын
So why not just talk to the student directly, and why tell everyone how the thief got caught? Also - how can you let that get stolen and how do you plan on keeping your job after allowing the thing to get stolen? Even if the kid returns it.

There's something so quaint about the way he thinks Microsoft was actively monitoring how many times he installed Windows in 2005. As if Bill Gates himself got an alert that someone had used the same product key twice.
