You are destroying your baby’s cychology, just think about what if your mother do this to you? If it is so necessary and baby is not cooperative then yes we can do this couple of time but I don’t do this twice a day forever, this can destroy my baby’s soul

This was shared 8 years ago. 8 years later , its saving us a lot of headache. always wondered how to brush my sons teeth. He always screams and kicks. this will definitely do the trick. Thank you

This is so helpful lol. I worked as a dental assistant for years and was like “i will always be soooo thorough with my kids!” fast forward to having a ten month old……… this helped TREMENDOUSLY. To those saying it’s abuse, what’s abuse is not brushing your child’s teeth and letting them decay and then dealing with painful teeth and speech issues.

This should not be on KZbin!!!!!! There are many different ways then wrestling a kid down with grown force. -- forcing it with discomfort. Also if this is not handled with care - this video can teach parents wrong and harm / hurt kids more based on body on not adjusting their body weight properly when sitting on the child. Really unprofessional to see this method

This is ridiculous!!! Thats toeture for a little child... what kind of doctor are you? No adult will even like to be put in this abusive position.... Best way is to find ways to get the child little by little to cooperate

You wouldn't let your baby sit in a soiled diaper because they didn't like their butt changed. It's needs to be done.

We sit around the table and brush our teeth together as a family after breakfast/dinner, so that our 1 year old can see that we brush our own teeth too. It takes time though.

Looks about right to me lol thank you, I thought I was doing something wrong. My kid doesn’t let me brush his teeth anymore after I had to give him liquid Tylenol because he caught a cold. Now anytime I get near his mouth he doesn’t let me and if I’m a little successful he reacts the same way, fighting and crying the whole way 🤷♀️ It’s a terrible feeling having to worry about the his future dental health and feeling helpless and doubtful about it because he won’t cooperate. Thank you for helping me figure something out.

My toddler is usually cooperative with the bottom teeth, but it’s so hard to brush the upper front teeth because she gets squirmy and this video clarifies why. So helpful to know this technique because I don’t have to rely on my husband to pin her down.

Thank you! This worked, I've been struggling with my 2 year old for a few days now. Even though she was crying, this had to be done. It's abuse if you don't get those teeth clean. No harm came to her, thank you you're a lifesaver. God Bless you and your family!

I am a dentist from Switzerland and woud like to draw your attention that this is how NOT to do it However, I am grateful for the video as iti is now being shown (not by me) at congresses as a negative example.
@tonyp11295 ай бұрын
OK, "dentist", why didn't you explain how it should be properly done? Your comment is useless as well as baseless.
@slobodankrucican66545 ай бұрын
@@tonyp1129 Well, "Tony", I happen to be the dentist in charge of the organisation of the state-run dental exams here in Switzerland (smells probably of "socialism" to Americans, but it works). So, yes, I do know a thing or two about the issue. But as you obviously think that the anonimity of the internet is a licence to be rude, I do not intend to further waste my time on you. You might however be interested to learn that the University of Bern is showing the video as an example of how not to do it.

Needed this video! My autistic 3yo struggles with brushing his teeth due to sensory issues. I've often felt horrendous restraining him 😢I used the straddling method not putting any weight on him just securing his arms and sides with my knees and this has been causing him such distress but I don't want his teeth to rot so feel like it was my only option 😢 this method looks more friendly and I can't believe I'm only just finding this method now. Will definitely be using this from now on and hope that is a bit more comfortable for him.

Thanks for this. It takes my husband and I to hold down our daughter so I turned to KZbin for advice. We’ve been brushing her teeth since 5 months and she used to do well, but around 8 months she started putting up a real fight. She turns 2 in 2 months and I’m so sick of the nightly battle Do you have advice on how to floss them, too. I get cavities easily and don’t want her to go through what I’ve gone through.

as a dentist, and mother of 3 please dont do that !!! the child will develop anxiety. make it fun and negotiate it slowly, it will not happen over night but should not take more then couple days to get the new routine in place. And if you have to put them under sedation o fix some cavities - so be it.

Thank you, we've been doing this for two weeks now. At the beginning our daughter of 17 months cried a lot. Now she lies down between our legs herself as she understands what is going to happen. At the end she finds it takes to long and still acts out a little. But I am very happy how quickly she is getting used to it
