one of my friends made a devotion paladin with Tiamat as their patron, and played them entirely like a tiamat simp. because of their undying loyalty, their unwavering faith, and talking with the DM the whole campaign, they were made the "Avatar of Tiamat", and became part of the boss fight. We had to take him down before taking down Tiamat, who would ensure he went through boss phases. Every time we got him down to 1 HP, a different head of Tiamat would kiss him. once all heads had been kissed, he was on his last phase. once he was defeated, then we could fight Tiamat. what we didn't expect was for Tiamat to combine his soul with hers and become a paladin of HERSELF. We came close to defeating her, but we got wiped due to the dice deciding they liked Tiamat more than us. I in particular got 3 nat 1s IN A ROW.
