It is only obsolete when a superior technology emerges that can handle the job more efficiently and/or with higher quality. And while we are developing and experimenting with new techniologies that we hope will be superior to what we developed based on Apple IIe technology, it has not passed the point that we can safely put the Apple IIe's out to pasture.
