As a company they’ve been at a loss while investors get fat payouts lol like they’re at a loss cause it’s inherently unsustainable AND the investors and CEO is just taking so much money lol

@@SkaTuneNetwork looking it up, other than stock the CEO seems to have already owned has mostly not taken a salary at all since 2017. It seems like your analysis is missing key details. You seem to want more profit, even when the company is losing, which despite empathising with that view, simply does not make economic sense.

Depending on the platform and payment service, somewhere between roughly 75%-80ish% goes to the artist, not factoring in whatever deal they have if they're on a label. That's for online sales. In person sales might be more profitable. If you buy the album for a dollar, they'll typically make more than like a hundred streams of one song. Spotify maxes out at like .005 cents for one play. Apple maxes out at like .01 cent.

Considering I am on an independent label run by a working class person and not a huge billionaire-ownerd corporation, it's pretty transparent For skatune network CDs/Vinyls, we have to pay licensing fees so it can vary. BUT my original music I drop under JER, it's a pretty good split. After the cost of getting the physical media made, the remainder is split between my label and me. So it's alright! But if those CDs are sold exclusvely on tour, I dont see that money cause it unfortunately goes into the tour. Moral of the story is buy records / music online!

Like CEO's trying to gaslight people from speaking out by acting as if you're wrong/entitled for standing up for yourself, making you feel bad in comparison and becoming uncertain/insecure/defensive, by triangulating people that have it worse, such as countries that have child-labor. Meanwhile they go under the radar as you get lost in defending yourself. Learn to recognize patterns and stop spreading propagenda that keeps society stuck.

Unless you're actually buying music, there's not much of a moral superiority that comes from using another streaming platform. As an indpeendent artist, Spotify has done the best job at putting my music in front of new people and notifying fans of my live shows. Also, my payouts from Tidal, Apple Music, KZbin music, and amazon music all fucking suck LOL. Streaming at a whole is an unsustainable model. Spotify has exclusively done shitty things, but a lot of what spotify does every other platforms is guitly of too. Tidal used AI to inflate streams for music owned by major labels to increase their payouts while decreasing independent artists payouts. Apple music is owned by a company literally relying on child slave labor in the congo. Spotify alone isn't the problem. As a consumer market, we need to divest from unsustable models and put our money into independent artists and directly to artists before corporations
