I get things like this w my neck when I'm real tired XD (the jerking lasts a fair bit longer and is closer together tho, and sometimes affects my arms or hands, but recently ive been getting facial twitches as well and they happen more often). Should I be worried or nah?

Thanks for sharing. I feel less alone after watching this. My epilepsy got me down for so many years. I lost 3 jobs, my driving licence 3 times, lost 2 friends to epilepsy. But after i lost the 3rd job it made me determined to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming an author, writing my book Jo's hidden secrets which raises money for charities close to my heart and make it into epilepsy information packs for schools

Well done on covering some key aspects of certain types of seizures to give insight to how experiencing an Epileptic seizure can be described by those who have them. I have a film in my mind's eye from decades of lived experience of seizures. Far less sugar coated and more gritty graphic and dramatic. I'd love to make it a powerful short film. I was interviewed for one, signed and returned the consent form but never heard from the grant recipient director again.

Thank you for your feedback. While one person’s experience of epilepsy may be vastly different from another’s, both are valid. The diversity of experiences within the epilepsy community is immense, and it’s vital that we acknowledge and respect that. It’s true, no one film, story, or portrayal can ever fully encapsulate every aspect of living with epilepsy, because the condition affects people in so many different ways. That said, the more we can share different perspectives, the more we can build understanding and empathy. 💜

I cried watching this this morning when I woke up. It encapsulates epilepsy beautifully. I just showed this to my wife (who I thank god for every day) and she was crying. Epilepsy affects loved ones as well. Once again, masterful video, I hope more get to see this.

Diagnosed in 2003 the morning of state band competition. The fear before always gets louder. I've never seen this. I've said these exact words and felt the same way. Sharing the journey and process on youtube is part of the fear cycle epilepsy put me in. Love that we can use it to share that together.

Can I just proffer an update considering this was made 10 years ago. Guidance has changed about the recovery position. Now the arm that isn’t on the cheek ought to be straight as a lot of people we’re ending up with injuries to that arm unrelated to the event

I have actually have 4 different types of epilepsy, aware focal seizures & a fall risk, catamenial epilepsy, stress-induced seizures and food that have too much estrogen & damage the seizure control you have. I've have had 3 VNS surgeries, 1 right partial lobectomy(taking out damaged tissue. I gave up driving, keep my feet on the ground and plans set when I know when I might have a problem. Fortunately, my auras make me hyper aware of the condition I have; from today will be ok, to when will it happen. Don't despair, control is possible; watch what you eat. Some food is high estrogen-seizure trigger. Always be careful, sure to eat and things already listed. It is possible to live through this, but bosses aren't understanding. We need to start bugging the government, the alphabet agencies, etc. We are provided SSDI, but with today's inflation, it's ridiculous. Be very careful with using Advantage Plans. The salesman are more interested about their sales rather than than your health. For those of us who fall, make strategies to lessen the consequences. An ESA, even a cat, will help and YES, they can be trained, just like a dog. However, they do not qualify as service animals. But my cat loves me dearly. After 45 years of this, I've learned a lot. Nutrition is very important. If you have a cell phone, use it for research. Do you're best to have support group to get help and reassurance. I've found to be very good. That's the wisdo 0:50 m I have today, besides DON'T let people and their opinions affect you. Always look for the positive. I know it's hard to find, but calm & recentering yourself really works. For me, it's Chruan worship music, as I'm musician. Singing gives me great joy. Blessings & strength to everyone walking this challenging path, a better life is possible. I'm actually in rehab right now fixing my meds and strengthing my body. J😊🙏💜 0:50

Only yesterday I was getting constantly getting small seizures,l can't do anything apart from getting to the floor and letting it pass. I have a broken tooth from when I fell down to the floor, black eyes, cut forehead,l can't tolerate any bright lights as my eyes just have black out constantly, what l have is FND and l have other illnesses to deal with as well. I have had seizures in my supermarket and when taken my dog out. This is a horrible thing to go through,l lose my speech and l have no control of my body. There's nothing that can be done medication wise.l am lucky to have my families near by.l rarely leave my home because I just get so anxious about having a seizure in a public place. I wear a bracelet all the time and I carry my phone on me with a note saying to phone 999 and also to tell someone to phone my son who lives the closest to me (l have 3 sons and all of them have seen me having a bad seizure. I don't want sympathy just understanding how this affects me.l am in bed for a few days because I feel so exhausted. I have had to learn to accept what I have and get on with life the best l can.

Also if you start vomiting after a tonic clonic seizure and have dark urine or kidney pain see a doctor immediately as tonic clonic seizures may cause rhabdomyolysis which is a breakdown of the protein from your muscles that may damage your kidneys and its very painful try to drink water to flush your kidneys doctors my recommend that you receive IV
