Hello, Many thanks for the video, but MS Teams does have Contact Center, Advanced Power BI reporting, Co-Pilot and does have Apps for Salesforce. But make up your own mind
@Aerocominc
@Aerocominc 14 күн бұрын
Hi Patrick, I appreciate the feedback, but can you please clarify? Teams Phone, itself, does not have true "contact center." By "contact center," I'm not talking about Teams Phone call queues. Teams Phone call queues are not "contact center" but more like call/hunt groups, that lack a ton of the basic features required to be considered contact center software (which RingCentral offers). Yes, you can build your own custom (historical), reports in Power BI, but that's not ideal for most companies (since it's not easily customizable without knowledge of Power BI... which few people have). The Queues App promises some of this, but it's brand new, a separate app (not in Teams Phone), and requires a Premium Teams license. Comparing this to RingCentral's customizable real-time and historical analytics (all in the same app), isn't a winner for Microsoft. Teams Phone does not integrate with Salesforce. Teams does, but not Teams Phone. For instance, you cannot integrate Teams Phone with the Salesforce dialer because Teams Phone does not have the open API's to integrate with Salesforce's CTI integration. Comparing it to RingCentral's open API and out-of-the-box SF integration, RingCentral wins. Yes, you're correct that CoPilot now works with Teams Phone. At the time this video was recorded, however, it was only available for Teams Meetings... not Teams Phone. I'm not saying RingCentral is the perfect phone app... they too have flaws... but they beat Teams Phone in these areas.

@@Aerocominc Many thanks for the comments. I my opinion, the age of contact center is at an end. Having a vector setup, is really the same as the AA/CQ in Teams. Who really needs the full setup to service their clients. It is an expensive overhead. As for the PowerBi, MS provide the base templates, and have a great Power Platform Team to help. Also with Co-Pilot, the total cost per year will be 150 per year. And with SMS available in the US and Canada, this will be an interesting space. But many thanks for the feedback and great information you give on your videos 👍

@@patrickwatters1567 I understand that for most businesses, a call center suite isn't necessary but for true call centers, there are endless advanced features that are must-haves, like always-on call recording, queued call back, whisper/barge/takeover, omni-channel queueing, quality management (i.e. call scoring, sentiment analysis, surveys), gamification, dialers, work force management, Intelligent Virtual Agent, etc. Customers request those features on the regular. To a business without a heavy call center, however, not needed.

Teams Phone Standard is included in an E5, but it's not enabled by default. You have to turn-on Teams Phone Standard, and add a calling plan either directly through Microsoft or through a 3rd party (i.e. Operator Connect).

Recommendation: Try cutting the fat from the beginning of the video. It shouldn't take over 2 minutes for the actual information to begin being presented. You can retain viewers for an entire 10 minute video if the beginning is full of the useful information and you put the fat towards the end. You lose viewers if there's unnecessary filler in the beginning.

For only 3 people, I'd recommend keeping it simple and using one of the big names, like RingCentral or Zoom Phone. All the features you need, competitive pricing, and 24x7 support, with lots of online how-to videos.

I have been looking at these plans, specifically the $15, the Pro Plus and the Business Plus. I am small but plan to expand. I like the features, but what I would really like to know is, How long are the zoom meetings with each plan? I know free and basic you have 40 minutes max I think? But how much time is allotted on the other plans. The web site doesn't really say.

Doesn't MS host phone service? I certainly don't want to pay 2 bills if I don't have to.
@Aerocominc
@Aerocominc 3 ай бұрын
Yes, they do. Microsoft can sell you a "calling plan" bundled with "Teams Phone Standard." And yes, that would make it one bill. On the other hand, by using the right Operator Connect vendor (for their calling plan), a medium-large-size business will get much lower pricing on the calling plan, better customer service, plus additional feature plugins (i.e. SMS/Text, call recording (always on), call analytics, failover, etc.).

@@JustOneSmallExplorer Operator connect vendors will typically have a minimum requirement of 10-50 users. For only one user, your best option is to just sign up with Microsoft directly for a calling plan. You can buy a bundle for $15/month for Teams Phone Standard and a Calling Plan, combined.

Very useful, thank you. I have a very basic question, do you still need a SIP provider for zoom or teams, like with physical voip systems?
@Aerocominc
@Aerocominc 4 ай бұрын
Glad you found the video helpful! For Teams Phone, you need to select a provider for your phone numbers/dial tone. Your options are: 1) Microsoft Calling Plan; 2) Operator Connect; 3) Direct Routing; 4) Direct Routing as a Service. See my video on Teams Phone Pricing, and it will help you understand. ... For Zoom Phone, no SIP provider is needed. All the phone numbers and dial tone is included.

I would not recommend using third party contact center solution, every contact center solution provider has had many unfixable issues blaming it on the Teams Api. Microsofts solution will not have issues with the Api like this...

Mike, great video as always. I would love to see an overview of the "hierarchy" so to speak of contact centers. Maybe starting with a small office, who would need a receptionist with a shared Voicemail, to a small customer service team who might need just some call time and volume reporting, to a large contact center with an entire unified communications stack and hundreds of reps. Just highlighting typical needs, how new systems are different from traditional PBX systems, and what features become needed/more important as the business grows.

If we are under contract for PRIs and/or SIP trunks, does that impact our ability to port the related DIDs out to a new phone system? We realize we may end up eating the rest of the PRI/SIP contract duration, but we are just concerned with being able to port our our numbers in our current phone system solution. Thank you.
@Aerocominc

No, a contract will not interfere with the porting process, but it will just trigger your Early Termination Penalties, on your next bill.

I think you've glossed over a couple of items Mike.. Operator Connect Carriers are peered directly with Microsoft using MAPS, meaning that it's generally a better quality of service compared to DR providers. This can be offset with the DRaaS provider being connected via Express Route though.. Also, you mentioned pricing - I beg to differ.. at least from a provisioning perpsective, you are likely to get a higher establishment fee from a DR provider, over a OC. That's due to the fact that many DR providers use a manual process to deploy the service. Whilst OC providers must leverage Microsoft's extensive API library, which generally means faster provisioning times. There are further nuances, such as pushing numbers into a customer's tenancy without consent with OC, and not available through DR as it requires Powershell scripting. This is a great option for customers that don't want their carrier to have access to their tenancy. Happy to chat further on this topic, as it's something I've been immersed in for quite some time as well..
