I'm on the "remove turret perimeter" train. It also reduces the power level but perimeter turrets just aren't part of the turret fantasy. In sci-fi they're generally either something you manually place (ala Aliens) or in a lot of video games they get tossed or essentially speedballed.

Great episode, I had Infinity burnout post Cancon, but this episode puts me in the mood again. This is my first top 10 in a 2 day event. Last BCB I managed 16th. Big thanks to @InfinityDante , and the reps he got in with me.
I have to agree on the Thunderbolt TR bot statement. I have a strong feeling my lists won't leave home without it, and only if I have the spare points will I upgrade to the HMG. Thunderbolt TR bot took 8 orders for Spitfire Joan to put into unconscious state, and she took a wound for her trouble. To spend most of my opponent's first turn with him taking that fight and failing was an extremely good use of points in the list.

Thanks for your comments - my first list was a shorter range list designed for denser tables and my Long Range list was designed for Open tables. I felt that the Mission mix allowed for that separation rather than for specific missions. I think I could have taken a third Ekdromoi in the short range list and been happy with it. Once more with Feeling - I couldn't print a list for it as there was a bug with Army that wouldn't allow me to switch the Cybermine profile on the K2 to the PARA mine. I had to recreate the list to print it.

I am learning infinity after first edition, and love every detail of the map terrain guide. Could you include in future tournament videos the maps used, and maybe add some commentary on the “goods and bads” Would be great to have an idea of why “that list” worked well but also on what terrain it happened

I've found that MOST of my vPanO lists actually take the linked FTO Helots over the camo Helots. I'm a bit more partial to the extra SD. There's also a small chance that if you move the harris into the midfield the sensor might actually be useful lol.

I think for turrets, spending all the orders creating Fort Kickass is obviously a mistake but there's quite a few cases where efficient turret generation (using the free states phase baggage) is good. The big thing is that in the FTF the opponent risks future orders and you risk invested orders.

KoTHS has turned into one of my rockstars in local meta that has A LOT of Nomads. Warhorse = immune to Oblivion and saves on a 19 or less against Carbonite if you give him fairy dust. Holos makes it easier to move up table and the Chain of Command version is actually a tanky button pusher in a lot of scenarios.

Sepulchre is really goddamn hacking resistant
@novembermike51225 күн бұрын
Yeah, the CoC variant has been impressive to me. It's basically got a multi-spitfire, like you mentioned a lot of scenarios make it a specialist and it's hard to hack, there are solid tricks with the holoechoes and it ARO's reasonably well with the DA ammo. The only issue is getting an HMG. I've been looking at the TR bot, we already kind of want an evo hacker (more combat jumps, fairy dust, if you've got a bulleteer giving it marksmanship) and giving a TR bot HMG marksmanship makes them fairly solid in the active turn for the cost.

2:04:25 The Observance Fireteam can only be formed as a Haris (in N5 must be 3 Troopers) thus just Peni + Ma' Hammer is not possible to do. Also, as a general question at all the Bakunin Lists: why the Morlock with Kobra Pistol and DA CCW if you can get the Morlock with the Kobra Pistol and E/M CCW?🧐
@lossoflieutenant188626 күн бұрын
Morlock wouldve just been an oversight, em is 100% better. Sad about the Observance team, good pickup though!

The Santiago CJ KHD doesn't even need to CJ successfully. The general plan has been to cybermask into a marker state and then super jump up the board 12" at a time. You don't need a lot of orders to get somewhere useful like that. Obviously the CJ succeeding is nice but failure doesn't throw you off the game plan. I've still been liking the Evo hacker though because I've been using a bulleteer, Order Sergeant Hacker, Curator haris. The hacker + bulleteer means you've got a hacker and mobile repeater in the same fireteam which allows for shenanigans, the curator can drop a turret and maybe mines and if you have the baggage bot nearby get a free reload every turn (and bring the bulleteer up if it gets hurt) and with an Evo hacker for your Santiago you can give the bulleteer spitfire marksmanship and it makes a great attack piece. It's one of the densest Haris I've found in MO in terms of everything bringing something to the table.

Just a note: Re the debate about the evo hacker in Torchlight - I THINK that you can use evo hackers to ARO assisted jump against enemy speedball drops? Perhaps someone can confirm that for me? But that does give them just a little more utility just basically across all games. I think it's rare that an opponent will not choose to speedball. Edit: I agree about the Fennecs. I've built multiple vPanO lists with 2-3 Fennecs. Love them. 2nd Edit: I looooovvveee the Hetkari/Bipandra/Firefly harris. That's a staple in every list that's not running a Tik Lt basically.

Coming from 40k, im incredibly impressed by the CB cardboard terrain. The quality of the look you can get, for such a small amount of time and money, is incredible. Now that I have the objective room and ladders and bridges, I've used cardstock to scratch build a bunch of other warehouses, barricades and scatter terrain that has made the game much more immersive and playable. Ive seen a lot of killteam played on gray plastic terrain and i had a lightbulb moment... Polystyrene might not be the ideal material for tabletop gaming terrain.

Hey, a bit of a noobish question, but what kills the riot grrl moderator fireteam is the riot grrl gaining limited cover after scoring a wound, right? Or is there some other interaction with frenzy not being suppressed in fireteams that I'm missing?
@lossoflieutenant1886Ай бұрын
lacking sixth sense is the big one. the huge problem with msv1 fireteam pieces like the riot grrl in n4, is that sixth sense made it so you couldn't actually take a fair to advantaged fight vs her. if you smoked she should of been on a -3 but sixth sense ignored that. if you white noised she should of been on -6 but sixth sense ignored that. All you could do was avoid her with stuff like white noise. In n5 in addition to the frenzy changes making it so her doing a wound has a cost now. you can no longer (outside of a pure RG link which is very spenno) get the same value with her+4 moderators. I cannot overstate how important it is that you can now abuse pieces like the riot grrl, with smoke, white noise, and albedo (albedo working vs those msv pieces that still do have sixth sense is also huge) Thank you for coming to my ted talk ~Jordan

Top, top floor I would say as a general rule no S6 or S7 TAG's but it could depend on the table. The extra height of an S7 is not negligible

Having a depth of terrain is the biggest challenge in Infinity. It is a very difficult to assemble a table that is "fair" but you can make it "fun", but symmetry is a trap.
@GrithertimeАй бұрын
This is true, however you don't always get a symmetrical battlefield, and those are kinda lame and not realistic. This is a simulation true, but it needs to be fun. Too much scatter is also a problem. But 14:30 you need to solve that problem and work thru the given terrain. Having a perfect table for a faction limits the thought you have to put into how you are going work with your force and solve the mission. You can over think terrain and having cover every 8 inches and few clear zones is lame. Though a defender should be able to dictate the terrain, but the attacking player can dictate the time and place differently.

The thing that I (and I assume most people) absolutely hate about speedball is actually the switch-on option. It's already hard enough to stop a Seraph (or a Redeye or a Bultrak, etc.) from 8/8 or 6/6 hopping into your DZ turn 1. Ignoring the first Oblivion or whatnot is just disgusting. You're probably only ever GETTING one shot at stopping it, the get-out-of-jail-free card is just too much.

Yea I agree Ikari is above Druze. Yojimbo is B3 Contender which is T2. The Wu Ming are good, and cheap and hit hard with lots of EM including an EM GL 0 SWC. Maxing out cores is OK but a player only cares about pure 2 and occasionally 4. Take ikari for example, keisotsu are very good now with really interesting profiles. Putting 4 9-12 point guys in there with a cheaper Brawler MSV2 who has 6th sense organically is fully serviceable. The Brawler can’t be surprise shot and when he dies, the Keisotsu HMG BS-3 is still a BS12 pure shooter for backup. In addition, the 19 pt Tanko is close to an auto include as he is BS13 Disco and de activator. Very self contained unit. So Ikari and Druze have eclipse and a desire to get in close. Druze can duo just fine and one cheap Druze and Taowu makes for fine pitcher delivery. The only dark spot is hacking but you can put Wu Ming tin bot with a Brawler hacker in a Haris with the AP HMG and get a 6th sense hacker sitting under tin bot -6 whose death doesn’t impact the Haris at all unless it want to reform. The smaller teams allow for some quite varied lists. If they are any good, I don’t know yet but it’s a major mental shift away from the large cores. Ikari and Druze just do them well still.
