Nice style in your review. Question: In your opinion is this game basically going for Project Zomboid with better graphics?
@mattymojo
@mattymojo 17 күн бұрын
I don't think it will get to the details of PZ, the many layers, but it is proving to be a more enjoyable playing experience, it's probably simply focusing on that. Arguably PZ doesn't do that, it focuses on a hardcore experience that isn't necessarily enjoyable at times, for the disturbed amongst us.

Zomboid also focuses more on the slow dumb zombie AKA Romero style zombie. No "special" zombies, no animal zombies. Humanitz has slow zombies, but also specials and animals ones. Humanitz definitely has some Zomoid influence, but I'd say it also has influences from games like Dying Light and Resident Evil in that regard. Both games are great, PZ has that classic zombie feeling, Humanitz has more of a modern one.

I have had it since launch and i believe they have done a great job changing the game. I was turned off before open world. To be honest mounts/pets and open world brought me back. Theee is a lot i hope for this game still. I would love more settings and private server options. Me and a large group of friends use a dedicated machine. It has some issues with multiplayer, mostly the storms and base destruction while offline. When me and our friends play different times this is a major issue. I think more game settings would give more than a few years of longevity. I hope they add it.

Great video! You really covered a lot of what I was curious to know about as I am a huge fan of their other game, Stationeers, but was dubious about this game. Now that the great steam sale is upon us, I am probably going to pick it up and give it a try. One question I'd like to ask for clarification from you if you'd be so inclined, or anyone who might already play the game and see this, is that I've heard that animal pathfinding can be pretty bad, especially in regards to the pets? I've poked around and got some mixed information in that regard. One critique I'd like to mention about your video in general, is that I feel like your voice volume is a bit too quiet, as I had to bump up my volume by about 25% to hear clearly what you are saying, and I am even using a headset so the sound is pretty isolated on my end. It's kind of on the border of being just a hair too quiet but not quite if that makes sense?
@mattymojo
@mattymojo 27 күн бұрын
Yo Lordlurk, firstly noted re the mic issue, I've been having all sorts of issues there, appreciate you noting it though and telling me that feedback helps. Okay, the pet pathfinding: I had no real issues with it, I'd say 95% of the time with your pets people will do what I do, claim them, then lead them back to base, they then tame up...after that most people will just have them set to "not wander" so they hang around your base and feeding troughs and feed and drink when required. Sometimes they get in each others way, if you have a lot of pets in a small area but just spread out your troughs - honestly no issues really, the pathfinding is fine. Hope this helps.

I don't think it's good to rely on a single review to judge a game honestly. It rather gives the impression that you like it because you heard what you wanted to hear, but that's it. For the game it depends on what you're looking for. Do you like survival games ? If so I think Survival Fountain of Youth is nice. It's not an "incredible" game, but it's cool. And for once it's a "real" survival game, not an A-RPG or action/adventure with crafting like we see more and more often. The game doesn't revolutionize anything but it stands out from most games on certain points, it's a bit reminiscent of Green Hell (which I'm sure it was inspired by) or The long Dark. The pace in these games is never frantic (one of the criticisms of the video that I don't understand, with the data which are juste normal for Steam, or like the bottle of water at the beginning of the game which is OBVIOUSLY important given the title of the game...), that's not the goal, once again it's not an action/adventure. The resources on the map are too predictable yes, but in fact almost all games work like that, it's just that in this game it's marked on the map, so it's more visible, but the structure is the same as in most games. Anyway, it was just to talk about 2-3 points. The game is not a perfect game for sure but there is a way to have a good time on it, once again it depends on what you're looking for. If you want a fairly difficult survival game and the setting intrigues you then it's worth it.

I am just sick of watching KZbin reviews buying games and finding out there sht and i cant get my money back. I am very poor and only eat 1 meal every 2 days. You can empty your hands, pickup FULL logs one by one and put them on your vehicle. Then take a vehicle full of logs back to base and store them in your log storage. This makes getting wood/logs much more efficient since you can go gather with your vehicle. You can actually get everything in the tech tree - it just takes time. I've seen players with over 2000 blueprint points. You get blueprint points every time you level up. The talents stop when you reach level 60 but you still level up after that (it just says level 60 all the time) and gain blueprint points. These are needed as there are new items added to the game. The latest are milk bottles and a milk pail.

@@mrphoenix5951 Go watch GoW play Icarus. He has over 2000 blueprint points and has pretty much everything ticked off. There are multiple level 60 players getting blueprint points by levelling up. It was designed this way a long time ago. There is no need for the svenprogression mode unless you want the level counter to keep climbing (if that is what it does). Blueprint points are still awarded after level 60. You can now get 3 extra talent points by completing the final Null Sector mission. This is one time only, so you can't keep repeating it for even more talent points.

I have been playing since the start and the only complaint I have is the animal AI towards other animals. They seem to live in complete harmony until you aggro, but you will never see a wolf eating a deer unless you’re the one that killed it. The animal combat feels fine when it’s you vs them, but you don’t really come across a bear den or see a family of birds in a nest.
