Blaze did nothing wrong, Maiden and metal in general were in a slump at the time

So much talent in a single band - Geoff, Chris, Scott, Whip and Eddie were just magnificent together during their creative hot streak. They were a beast of a band on stage and 'Rage for Order' and 'Mindcrime' will forever be two of my favourite albums of all time. Whatever they're doing now (and I saw Geoff on stage just recently, which was an emotional experience - he sounded fantastic) and whatever they do in the future, I'll always be grateful.

Sign of the Cross was when the band ripped of Black Sabbath a second time after Ancient Mariner. This time they even copied the almost exact title (minus one word or so).

Say what you want, but Steve Harris grew immensely as a composer in the 90s. The earlier epics were still very riff-based, but songs like Sign of the Cross and The Clansman were rich, slowly progressing melodic works that felt like film scores

Honestly Blaze sounds a bit like a British David Lee Roth, he's a great singer but definitely doesn't fit. They should've probably gone with Doogie

Queensrÿche had a singer that could actually sing the right way coming from a singing background. He was well trained and it comes out that way and the guitar playing and the whole early first version of the band. Great singing, great guitars, bass and drums great songs but more can you ask for one of the best bands that ever came out of that ever that had their damn shit together… Keep on rocking

I absolutely love Blaze; I enjoyed his two Maiden albums, but he has so many of his own that are worthy of attention. The fact he records and tours totally independently is really admirable as well, let alone after his heart surgery.

They got knackered from too much touring. They were struggling for material. Adrian Smith left/was sacked, a huge part of their quality control. Dickinson had wanted away for a while and wanted to do something different. Truth is, if they'd taken a couple of years off, it could have been sorted but they were on a relentless schedule of an album a year, a world tour every year and a fortnight off for Christmas

Blaze is a super decent, honest, self-critical and nice guy but just not a good singer. His voice and stage presence....meehh sorry, I never liked that and never will. But I have still great respect for the guy.

I was at Every show that was close to Dayton Ohio. #of the beast, piece of mind, power slave, somewhere in time and 7sons. Probably seen them 12-15 times. Hara Arena, Cincinnati coliseum, and Columbus. And let me tell you,the energy was going during somewhere in time tour. After 7sons, I had to give them a rest. I think they were drained, non stop touring for 10 years will do that. They had all kinds of $ by now,no time to spend. They were tired. Music was tired too.... O can't even think about them not being in my life soundtrack.

All the coolest songs are in XFactor and Virtual XI. Sign of the cross Lord of the flies Man on the edge Fortunes of war Look for the truth the aftermath Judgement of heaven Blood on the world's hands edge of darkness 2am the unbeliever Lighting strikes twice when two worlds collide dont look to the eyes of a stranger como esta amigo ALL HUGE MAIDEN TUNES

x factor and virtual xi can be less popular albums but they are still good albums and have bangers such as sign of the cross, lightning strikes twice, clansman etc... i bet many bands would love to have such albums in their discography.
