How do you turn on the hot tub?
@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk 4 сағат бұрын
Hello Hectorrivera4053, If you have a Blue Whale Spa hot tub, you will have either a 13amp or 32amp power supply switch. 13 will look like a weather safe outdoor wall plug, or perhaps it is wired into inside your house. A 32 will have an IP65 rated waterproof isolator switch. See this video for the differences: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3XPnpt6bpyfeqs To make sure you do not damage your hot tub parts when switching on, make sure the hot tub is filled first. See this video for the best way to fill and start your hot tub, bearing in mind that this is a slightly older model of Balboa control panel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGOtlYNoeqeEock Hope this helps, and please call our customer services on 0115 954 8888 if you need any further advice. Yes, please do not do this. We always advise first time filling of your hot tub should be with cold water from a hosepipe directly down the filter housing. Hot water directly onto the shell could cause acrylic damage, and putting a running hosepipe into the base of the hot tub rather than down the filter housing can cause start up problems like Air Locks. If in doubt call us in 0115 954 8888. Thanks, Blue Whale Spa

Hello sheevpapapalpatine6617 Your Gecko hot tub panel should power up and show lights once the power to the hot tub is switched on. If you are certain that the power to your hot tub is working correctly, but your Gecko panel does not show any lights or the start up sequence on the screen, your hot tub panel might be having connection issues. @bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk 4 ай бұрын
Hello Paul, We do not supply plugs of any kind with our hot tubs as we have no way of knowing how much cable is needed to reach from a customers electrics to the hot tub site, plus we are not covered to work on a customers house electrics. We instead offer a delivery and installation service free with the majority of our hot tub orders, which involves wiring the cable provided by the customer, after having been professionally installed to the customers electrics and the correct length of cable to comfortably reach the hot tub site, into the hot tub base and control box inside the hot tub. This is why it is key that customers make sure their base and electrics are in place before their delivery date. Hope this helped answer your question. Blue Whale Spa

How do you remove the broken white plastic part of the jet? I had about 5 jets where I unscrewed them and pulled them out and the white plastic stayed in. Any help ?
@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk 5 ай бұрын
Hello Rocktidwell898, If you mean the white plastic ring seen in this short, that the debris can be seen in; that is the jet body where the jet component screws into, and is attached and sealed to the hot tub shell. We do not recommend customers remove these if you are experiencing damage to this component. If you do have damage to your jet body or it is another issue you are facing, we may need some visuals from your specific situation to assist you with this. Please call our customer services team on 0115 954 8888, or please fill in the customer services contact form on our website and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Hi Jackierowan2292, Did you mean that you don't have your attachment or that you cannot clearly see the attachment used in this video? It may be time to make an updated version of this video with clearer examples of the drain types and adaptors that fit them. On this video you can see the hose tail adaptor around 30 seconds, which has the screw thread on the outside of the attachment, to screw into the drain port. This short of our other common drain type kzbin.info-wLCnfuxkDU shows the other model of hose tail adaptor that has the screw thread on the inside of the attachment, to screw onto the drain port. You can call our customer services team on 0115 954 8888 to order a new adaptor attachment if needed, and to find out which type you need.

How do you remove the lid lifter arm so i can remove the side panel the front and rear panel are easy im having troubles with the sides
@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk 10 ай бұрын
Hello Roneasy87, If you have a cover lifter you will need to disassemble and detach these parts in order to remove your side panels. You will need a screwdriver (preferably a battery powered one), small pliers and possibly a second pair of helping hands. First remove your hot tub cover from the bar and place is a safe space. Your Cover lifter can be disassembled into 3 parts; Right hinge & side bar, Left hinge & side bar and Top bar. These parts are attached to each other by screws on each side of your bar, about half way up. All screws will be covered by black caps. These can be removed with small pliers, keep safe for when you put the bar back on, they protect your screws from exposure and water damage. While the cover lifter is in a horizontal position, unscrew the Top bar from the Hinge side bars then move the bar to vertical to slide the Top bar off each hinge side bar. Make sure to note where your screws go and keep the loose parts safe for reassembly after. Then on each side where the hinge and attached to the side panels you will see more small black caps over the screws. Remove caps and unscrew the hinge sections to remove from your side panels. Please note that these can be heavy and having a second pair of hands to hold them steady when removing and reattaching is always helpful. You will now be able to remove the side panels as normal. Please see this short for reference of where the screws are located and what caps look like. kzbin.info9l0vaTzBN_4 Call our Customer Services team for more details on 0115 954 8888.

@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk 11 ай бұрын
Hello Berniewildgust3707, As stated in the video this is only gravity fed for draining the water, meaning where the water naturally pools in the seats and in the filter area, unless you scoop it into the footwell or out of the tub completely it will remain. It is also worth noting that several of the pipes will be level or possibly lower than the drain port and thus water can remain inside the pipework. Please see this short for reference; kzbin.infomHjUwwKEuvI We advise to use a wet-vac over the jets, and then loosen the seals around the pump unions to make sure all water is drained from the inner workings. Please feel free to call us on 0115 954 8888 if you would like more information. Thank you

Why do I need to customise the filter cycles? My hot tub dealer just shown me quick set up and I’ve been using for 6 months. Do I need to do this?
@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk 11 ай бұрын
Hi ItsTheShadow, if you've had no issues over the last 6 months there's no reason to change the settings your hot tub dealer advised. You can follow this guide to check what settings you have in place without changing anything. We advise to have 2 cycles, each set for 2 hours, at times of the day when you will not be using the hot tub to elongate your hot tub water life, but you can choose whatever you wish. You might choose to change the filter times if your regular hot tub session times change, or if other settings you have in place effect you hot tub further. For example if your hot tub is in Rest Mode it will only heat during a filter cycle so you would want to set those to activate just before you are likely to get in the hot tub. With Balboa, if your hot tub looses power it should save your settings, but it is always advised that you check after any power cuts to the hot tub, to avoid any issues or excessive power use. If you have any further questions please feel free to reply further or call our customer service team on 0115 954 8888.

@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk Жыл бұрын
Hi Harold the Barrel, If the Filter symbol on your Gecko INK300 is flashing constantly, it most likely means that your Filter Cycles are suspended. This could be because some programmed settings are not configures correctly, or another setting is preventing the filter cycles from operating normally, or your filter could be in need of changing. We recommend checking your filter and settings and calling our customer services team if the problem persists. Hope this helps, thank you for your comment, Blue Whale Spa

Hello YuzeLemon, hmmm. Our Gecko hot tub models all work with INK300 or INK330 panels that wire into the standard Gecko IN.YJ-3 Control Box. If you have a hot tub with the Gecko AeWare IN.XE or IN.XM2 Control Box, you are more likely to have the Gecko IN.K450-3OP panel. Although we can't advise you on the specifics of this panel, we did find these instructions online that we hope will help; geckokeypads.com/k450use If your water is not clear, and you have just bought it from a previous owner, we would always recommend filling it up fully, running a system flush to clean out all the pipework and then draining and cleaning the hot tub before using it. Hope this helps, thank you.

Do you switch the hot tub off first?
@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk Жыл бұрын
Hello Bernadette, If you are going to drain your hot tub you should always switch is off before removing any of the water. A low water level with power still supplied to the hot tub can cause air locks and other error messages on your control panel, not to mention that the internal components are designed to run with water filling them, so for example a heater running with no water can cause damage to the part. If you need any further advice please feel free to call us on 0115 954 8888 and speak to our customer services team. Thank you.

Couldn't Martin have made it much easier by just sliding it down and leaning it on the side of the spa rather than carrying it away? Not the best but just sayin. I have a lifter that also acts as a screen.
@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk Жыл бұрын
Hi Oldgoldtop, we understand a lot of our customers who don't have a cover lifter keep their lids leaned against the hot tub side when enjoying the water. Depending what your hot tub space is like this could risk getting leaves and dirt on the lid and into your water, but it is completely up to personal preference. A cover lifter helps with easy removal and storage of your lid so you can enjoy your hot tub without worry.

Doesn't the filter/circulation pumps run all the time? How does it maintain temp when not in used if the circulation/filter pumps only come on for a hour here n there?
@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk 3 жыл бұрын
Hi BM_E60 530d, thanks for you comment, sorry it took us a while to get to it. The circulation pumps do not need to run all the time as the hot tubs are designed with insulation in the side panels and each come with an insulating lid which help to keep the heat in your water when you are not using it. Of course when you do use it and take off the lid, you will notice that the heat will escape quicker depending how cold it is, how long you use it etc. The circulation pumps work with both the heating system and the filtration cycles. While they will engage with your set filtration cycles and push water through your tub, including the heater, this is more like a check and top up if needed. The heater in your hot tub reads the temperature of your water regularly, and if it detects a big enough drop in temperature it will engage the circulation pumps to push water through the heater efficiently. So that they only engage when needed, not active all the time.

@bluewhalespauk
@bluewhalespauk 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony, sorry it took us so long to get round to your comment. We do realize it can be confusing that there are actually 4 different hot tub models in this video, but the important information is that solving an airlock for any of our hot tubs always follows the same process. We're not quite sure what you mean by the "highest point" but the aim when you do reach the circulation pump, which will always be on the left or right side of the control box (so always remove the side with the panel on top), is to bleed out the air, much like you would with a radiator. The large union that tightens the pipe to the pump itself needs to be slowly loosened to release any air that could be trapped. If or once you get a flow of water, as seen in the video, this means the air is gone and it can be tightened back up to stop any leaks. An extra measure that can be taken is to do the same procedure on the unions either side of the control box (no need to unscrew the cover) and be sure to tighten up again and have a cloth handy for any water flow that does indicate no trapped air. Then you can turn the power on again and proceed at the control panel. Thanks for your comment and please do call our help line 0115 954 8888 (Customer Services option) if you have any further issues.
