This type of rivets is compatible with the war period. That type of brown color is generally associated with the Spanish Civil War. I think the star was added later (children? theatre?)

Good eye, that's efectively an M 33. Mussolini provided a quantity of M33s to the rebel troops, with deliveries starting in 1938. prior to that It would have been captured to Italian CTV troops in Guadalajara or Aragon Battles or later in the Ebre, making it a good find, Interesting one. The markings should help tracing It's origin.

Thanks for your video. Great! 5 manufacturers (shown here as written on the blade:) Chatillon, N.Y. Briddell Village Blacksmith The Clyde Cutlery Co., Clyde Ohio U.S.A. Plumb ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- all have dots between the letters = U.S.M.C. , just Chatillon doesn`t: USMC older models seem to have 4 pins in the handle, most have just 3 pins from approx. 1943 - 45 (differing from maker) the only manufacturer of the scabbards seems to be "BOYT" Rarity? From my records Chatillon, N.Y. is most common by far, then: The Clyde Cutlery , then very rare: Briddell and as rare : Village Blacksmith and ultrarare: Plumb. As far as I noticed, the prices are more influenced by the condition than by the maker. If you find this Bolo Knife "without" manufacturer = just " U.S.M.C. " , it should be from Clyde Cutlery. The small and not so "deep" logo ist stamped between (!) "U.S.M.C." and handle. If the Bolo is quite used, the makers name is hard to find or not visible any longer. You might find it or remains of it with a magnifier. The date of the scabbard doesn´t have to be the date of the Bolo knife. Additionally: many scabbards were mixed up or lost and later added, again, even today. Size if my Chatillon beauty ( measured without my BOYT 45 - scabbard) : length 42 cm / approx. 16,54 inch. Blade: 29 cm / approx. 11,42 inch. Weight : 916 gr. / 32,3 Oz. I am quite sure that U.S.M.C. means U.S. Marine Corps and not U.S. Medical Corps . But quite sure is not sure: can someone provide an official information (maybe of a training manual or instruction leaflet from WWII) which helps? Thanks. all the best, Fred from Germany

no they are marine issued to marines bolos not medical they were made by several companies also the ww1 bolo were reissued to marines to keep up with marine demand/ needs bolos started to be issued to military troops since 1897. could corpsmen have been issued bolos yes but they were for marines primarily!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I have a Lionel early 30’s 10E set from my great grandparents and I wanted to buy a car that is pretty well-known where I live (it’s in the local brewery’s Christmas ale) and I wanted to buy it so that it will match my train (peacock green). Half of the pages I visited said the 10E is O gauge and the other half said standard!

Yea since i have watched this a while back i found a few more tidbits about my VZ24 but none of it helps me figure out the rifles caliber? I dont have the skills to pour melted metal down the chamber of my rifle. And i cant find any gunsmith that can tell me the caliber for some reason? I guess it takes a special tool, maybe? Its crazy i have had this guns for years, left to me by my grandfather and i have never fired it? Id really love too! :>/

The one with the bent bolt was a rifle built for the German troops and they are the ones that required bent bolts and they would relife cut the stocks. Late in the war to cut down on time of production they didnt always do all the stamps. There are a few people doing videops on thier VZ24s that know more about them then we do! check them out just run a quick search VZ24 what kind is mine or what caliber is mine or what do the markings mean on a VZ24 all will work.
@michaelw.urbansr.86172 жыл бұрын
I have a mystery VZ24 as well! My grandfather took it off an Axis soulder some place over a wide area.....? He started in North Afric and threw Italy ,France and the other countries they went threw to her to Germany. Not in Africa/Middle East they were chambered in 7X57 or 7.62X53 and then into Italy some were 8mm and other still the 7.65X53....or is it 7.65X57? I think its X53 then most of Europes were 8mm. The markings on mine are Batch number E*26 Which the star here represents a small lions head, the number 26 is the year it was built. Then the serial number under that is 6336-K1 the sash just represents a space. There is no dash on the gun. Im not sure what the K1 means as its not part of the four diget serial number. Then on the left side of the reciever like you have on yours Yugo. 44 At least thats what i think it looked like. Anyway mine only has a "VZ24" on the reciever. Across the top of the Receiver its three lines in Slavic with the last line BRNO so it is a bruno or BRNO but not sure if it was biult for the Czech army or Romanian? and not sure how to tell? Just know the year it was made 1926 and early 1926 which i beliueve was the 1t year the VZ24 was starting to be produced in larger numbers. And they were built in batches of 10k. Now with all that crap i have learned about my VZ24 over the last 6months of serious research i still cant figure out how to tell what the caliber is? lol It wasnt imported or it would have had to have the caliber marked on it. A German built Mauser along with the one i have came back in my Grandfathers duffle bag! LOL Good quicky video bud
