Factually, Sopore is the northern most station of India. The train takes a southward turn to Baramulla from Sopore. Baramulla is the last station but Sopore is the Northern most.

Legend has it that Vishnu assumed the form of a boar to rescue the earth from sinking into the water. The name is also tied to the Kashmiri language, where "Mula" means a place or junction. not baramulla my friend it is Varaha-Moola (the right tooth of the Varaha Avatar of Vishnu), the tooth fell in that area which was used by rishi Kashyap to drain Satisar lake which is now known as Kashmir valley.

Wowwww! The Trivandrum I'm seeing after 30 long years is not the city that I'd left behind! It has changed so dramatically! I could recognise a few landmarks like 'Sreekumar' and 'SriVishak' theatres. I saw movie posters stuck on the wall! Are the theatres still functioning?
