I only learned about Lemon Demon like a month ago, so I was late to the party. And the song that introduced me to them was the Jaws song, that just played randomly on my KZbin while cooking, and I was like "who the hell is this, this is hilarious." Later I looked them up and fell down the rabbit hole with Spirit Phone and have been obsessively listening since.. I was born in the early 80's but I notice he seems to be very Oingo Boingo/Danny Elfman influenced, which is more my brothers era but that I've grown to love (possibly more than him) and listening to this reminds me very much of Forbidden Zone (which if you all haven't seen is worth the watch... Just to imagine how the hell this got made, wouldn't be possible today. A fun head tip.) When I listen to Spirit Phone, it's very theatrical and I imagine in an alternate universe it having a long connecting music video/movie ala Michael Jackson, Forbidden Planet or even Rocky Horror, which wish he could've done. All I can say is please please Sir Neil, make another album that compares to this one. I know it took him like 7 years to perfect this one, but we all need more Lemon Demon in our lives! 🙏

Poor Neill, because the older version of Reaganomics really is better, and it's not just people hearing that version first since I heard the album version first, didn't like it that much, years later heard the other version went "wait this slaps, why didn't I used to like this" then listening to the album version and going "oh."

Normally, excessive vulgar language can ruin a character. Here, it MAKES this version of Death. It's just so incredibly out of place for something with an appearance of both terror and dignity to be saying "fuck" so much, yet it works. Which is also funny in that fucking is essentially what you do when you want to create new life.

This was really fun to hear his thoughts. It is funny to me how spiral of ants gives me this vibe of being on the brink of annihilation, and he describes it as just an opportunity to sing about bugs that don’t matter. 😂 it’s cool to see what the creator got from their own music compared to what a random random listener might.

In reference to Sweet bod, even if the honey man isnt real people did eat tens of thousands of mummys. Look up mumia, it was a mistranslation from latin merchants who wanted to buy some antiseptic resin, but people thought they were talking about the wax that was found on mummys. People then just ate thousands of mummys, bc they thought they had healing proterties. Some famous classical artist actually used mummy as a pigment, called "mummy brown" and they would swear by it and refuse to use different paint. This sale of mummy body parts is the reason there are so few mummys left now that we have to keep them in museums. Everyone was mummified back then, so there were tens or maybe ever hundreds of thousands of mummys that got eaten over a couple hundred years before people started to question "wait why are we eating people again?"
