BT creating a problem where one didn't previously exist 👍

Great video, I have two of the boxes but recently the lights on the front of one have stopped coming on, tried a different power cord from the other box but no effect, could this be the issue.

Changed the hard drive like for like and still goes into maintenance mode only. Completed software update but still no joy. Any ideas?

my 2100 will not let me in maintenance mode and keeps resetting, will replacing the hard drive sort this out ? just constantly resent to start up mode.

How long did it take to format? Mine took so long I gave up waiting & presumed it was a different fault.

As others have said, the dangers of a single dead cell are very real and likely what the BMS has picked up on. I know the Xiaomi's let you view the BMS data over bluetooth, that would be worth checking, if it has this feature. Finally, rather than upping the amps on the PSU, leave the amps low and up the voltage. Check the voltage rating on the battery and go no higher than 95% of this. If it's a 37v battery, go to 35v, that will put you at 3.5v/cell (assuming balanced!) at which point the BMS should be happy to do the rest. If it was me I'd be checking Bluetooth data, or taking the pack apart to test for dead cells... If this wasn't an option I'd be charging it outside, the risks are just too high, especially when bypassing the BMS

the problem you can have is that you have a dead cell, the bms will protect against that. if you bypass it you can over charge the other cells with the associated risks of unpleasantness. If it won't run / charge via the BMS then you have a problem either with the BMS or you have an out of spec cell that it is protecting you from.

The proper charger should have been able to take over by now. If it doesn't charge, something is VERY wrong with the pack. Charging it the way you are will not balance the cells. Not worth the risk. I would just buy another battery. Even if you do get this thing to operate somewhat, it will likely be very poor output/runtime.

OMG, I was about to have splash out £200 on a new box and in desperation did a bit of doctor google and came across your video, quick purchase of hard drive on Amazon for £18.99 and with your clear instructions even a girl can do it! Lost my saves channels but box working perfectly, thank you so much.

Excellent video and clear instructions, after watching this video and ordering a new drive from the Ebay link supplied (which arrived after only two days) I found it relatively easy to swap out the hard drive on my BT vision box. Once installed I needed to reset the BT vision box back to the factory settings, thanks to the clear instructions on the video this was quite easy however, I did have to follow the process a few times before the Maintenance Mode came up but once it did it was easy to follow and fully up and running in a few minutes. Thanks again.

Hi, Thanks for this really helpful, My BT box (1Tb) keeps switching off or giving a blank screen, primarily when viewing recordings although, my wife said it also happened when watching tv (which I have not seen, but I suspect it may have been pausd so then viewing from the HDD maybe? - Do you think replacing this will work or try a hard reset first and delete all recordings?

Very nice tutorial, it was nicer if you filmed when you dissasemble the tablet. I have the same tablet, with the same issue with the power connector, but i want to upgrade it to usb c, when i will have the time, :) but i like the tablet it is very snappy!

Don't fit a Seagate drive as they are very poor quality and tend to fail over time. Why no static straps?

Suddenly my Humax unit stated that there were no recordings on the disc. And it refuses to record anything when programmed ...drive has failed will have it replaced. Might use and SSD unit

How do you know that your hard drive has failed? My box just continually tries to reboot now, but never reaches the home page. Makes a beeping noise too

I replaced all 4 caps supplied in the kit. Still there is no power. What else could be wrong. I ger power upto socket and fuse is OK.

Is there a way to disable the awful Netflix, iPlayer, itv Hub and On Demand buttons? I'm close to dismantling the remote just to cut out the buttons from the rubber pad and cover the holes with tape. I've lost count the number of times my fat fingers have pressed Netflix instead of 1. Ive disabled the internet connection on the Freesat box so I can exit the app faster but these On Demand buttons are in a prime location of a poorly designed remote. Cheers.

Hi. There are two versions of thr binatone 550 radios. The version with the time is an older modelm They do run on the same license free frequencies of PMR446. The first set is on channel 7 and the second is on channel 1. In order for all radios to communicate you have to press the menu key and the up and down arrows until they have the same channel (main digit) and subchannel (the smaller number) matched. All sets will then communicate. I do hope this helps.
