The 288 Gto is one awesome car and deserves it spot as 1 of the big 5. Unfortunately it never got the spotlight it deserved in the 80's and is still overlooked today. There is millions of videos on the Enzo the LaFerrari. F40. F50 etc but only a handful of the 288. It's rival the Lamborghini Countach couldn't come near the 288 performance wise but it was mentioned more times one could count back then. Sadly we missed out on a really great car for it's time because it was overshadowed by cars like the Testarossa at the time and let's be honest looking at the 2 the Gto was really a much more attractive option

The 288 did not get a federalized US spec so Ferrari never sold it in North America and was grey market only. Almost impossible to get imported in the 80s. Only a few hundred made vs 10,000 Testarossas. So it wasn't really an option at all.
