@@complete_newb1718 it's meant to be something you have to earn and work for and it absolutely changes the flow and pace of gameplay. For me, it made me appreciate the grappling hook that much more.

Something that helped me was getting the jigsaw box item before you make it there cus you can just keep reloading your weapon until you get the right element you need

coming from risk of rain 2 where i grinded for gold e8 and have about 20% win rate on e8 (nothing good, still fairly new) without lunars lowering difficulty should be #1 tip i was having fun playing standard but was playing blind w/o guides and knew i was missing a ton - couldn't progress past 2nd boss and while I was having a blast, lack of progress was a little annoying in terms of unlocking doors and crystals. Went to discovery, unlocked everything, beat the game for lulz, and now I'm still bad at standard but I'm having a ton more fun. Absolutely nothing wrong with going down to do what you gotta do. Risk of rain has drizzle which many players scoff at but even though I beat the game on rainstorm, it wasn't till I went to drizzle that I started to pickup a ton of extra skills and confidence and eventually moved up with ease. These kind of games have great ceiling levels but starting fresh shouldn't be taken for granted as starting on higher difficulty can ruin your experience.
