Would the CEL light still come on if I have my truck tuned to make me aware of the drop in pressure? Or would I need to have that added to my tune?

I installed the No Limit on my 2017 f250, it's compounded with a kc stage 1 in the valley and a s480 feeding that. Cp4 to dcr swapped. I dyno'd it and coolant started spraying out the secondary tank. They told me it's cause the No Limit has a leak in it somewhere. I left it alone and this past week was pulling a trailer up and down through the Oklahoma hills, got home and the plastic t fitting going from the intercooler to the secondary was melted. Took it to the shop and they told me it's cause hot air is going through the intercooler with no coolant which caused it to melt. Called No Limit and they didn't want to warranty cause my truck is compounded. I've had it less than a year too. Bout to switch to the SPE intercooler regardless of price. We'll see how well it holds up, can't wait till it's here. What do yall think? How's the quality compared to the No Limit?

Terrible quality control!!! Guys please check the metal crossover tube for metal burs on the o-ring end. I could not believe the amount of crap that came in the tube. I’m debating not even installing it on the truck. I bought this to keep metal out of my injections!!! Not feed it straight to the volume control valve. Not impressed.

This line is manufactured by the same supplier that makes Ford's lines. As stated at 22:19 mins in the install video, we recommend blowing the line out. While we do our best to QC all of the parts it is still a manufactured & packaged part which is why anytime you are installing parts on a high pressure fuel system, they should be thoroughly checked & cleaned prior to installation. That goes for Ford parts, our parts, competitor's parts, etc. If you're still uncomfortable installing this on your truck, we are more than happy to switch it out. Reach out to our team at [email protected].

Did you say 20 micron or 2 micron
@SPEMotorsport16 күн бұрын
20 micron. This is designed to catch larger fragments and alarm via the sensor in the exo filter. This is a non consumable filter and acts more as a screen. Most of the cp4 debris is very large when they fail.
@Bryan-hd9fs16 күн бұрын
@@SPEMotorsport So some particles could return back to the tank? Will there be a finer rated exofilter in the future? The s&s kit has a replaceable filter that is 9 micron; however, it is and additional cost for maintenance.
@SPEMotorsport16 күн бұрын
@@Bryan-hd9fs There are many issues with a low micron filter an the return side. We did a lot of testing Without going into extreme detail. Basically the filter becomes an added restriction on the side of the system that is already heat soaked when returning to the tank. Our testing of many different micron screen found minimal amount of restriction with 20 micron in a manor that wouldn't change the functionality of the factory system. This was proven when our competitor had a clear bottom filter that was melting on trucks that pushed them in to a steel filter and aluminum mounting head. Hence the extra heat build up. a lower micron steel filter band aids the issue. More heat makes fuel cooler / system work harder as well. Once again we only make it a safe guard that doesn't change the functionality of the vehicles other systems. Its easy to over engineer but doesn't always make it the best way to do it. Great question!

@SPEMotorsport16 күн бұрын
They are two very different solutions. If you ever sell the truck it still has the original pump on it, thats a positive with the dpk. DCR is only available from one source if you have an issue with it (all mechanical parts can fail) , Not a Ford dealer some people don't like that.

This is cool but I think the magic is really that you added the low pressure switch. 6 months ago I looked at your gen 1 DP kit and ended up going with the S&S gen 2.1 because it looked more straight forward with a bigger filter that was readily available. If I had to do it all over again I would have bought this kit. Since I already have a DP kit installed it would be nice to have an option to retrofit the kit that I already have installed with your wiring and pressure switch.

I never understood these. You get a super nice looking intake but it just sucks in hot engine air.
@SPEMotorsport16 күн бұрын
There is a lot of development that goes into our intake systems including anemometer, air density, pressure drop, and dyno testing to name a few. We can easily make a closed box but its honestly not ideal against popular belief. Most people that say that lack real world data. Our shield/box is designed in a specific way to function in the best manor for multiple driving situations. Not just sound but performance as well. Closed boxes heat soak at low throttle positions and don't purge air well at low vehicle speeds (this is huge) this was found in our testing. We find a happy medium between open element (which performs in the manner you think) and closed box its the best all around performer. You may also ask why they run faster at the track than a competitors closed box? TESTING = great products! Hope this helps.

@@SPEMotorsportWell it doesnt take much to see that the thing takes a significant amount of air from the cooling package. When this thing is up to temp I wouldn't be surprised if it looses power. Not to mention tons of people run open hood dynos which would substantially help this design. Not accusing you guys just stating fact. The pipe and filter look great but without video of the dyno runs and other testing that was done I wouldn't consider buying this.
