STORY TIME I am probably of the older generation of Bo fan. I am 45. And when I was growing up, mental health was not… health. If you were not bleeding or did not have a fever, then you were fine. This shaped my outlook on mental health. I had to un-learn that frame of mind. And, I have to say, Bo was a great catalyst of that in me. I started picking up on in in “What”. Then punched me right in the face with it in “Make Happy”. The closing songs of Can’t Handle This and Are You Happy are still anthems for me. Fast forward, and now I have a 12-year-old daughter that struggles with mental health. She has known Bo for years, but we recently watched Make Happy together and she loved it. I am trying to learn Are You Happy on guitar, but am having difficulty with the timing. My daughter has started taking piano lessons, so I asked if she would like to try Are You Happy. She was so-so on the idea. Then I sent her your cover, and now she seems really inspired and excited to try and learn it now. Thanks Isabel, for your beautiful and emotional rendition!!
