Not sure why. But you keep going into isolation mode when "draw inside" is active. That is where this function shines, you don't need to go into isolation mode. This saves you a tone of time. Also when doing the recoloring, in isolation mode, you get a very skewed visual representation of the total illustration. Just just direct or indirect selection tool to select those brush strokes, then edit the color. You get a much better understanding what the color changes will represent. Ps stunning illustration style!

Sorry for commenting with a question to the 5 years ago video. But when you added shadows to your illustrations, did you use multiply on black? Or did you use the same color and multiply?
@cricketdesign14 күн бұрын
I use black color with Soft Light

Hello, the author of this amazing channel, I really like your video tutorials, they differ from others in that you add your own color selection and the whole picture turns out to be very beautiful. But I have a small question, please tell me where to look for references, sketches for training? Thank you very much in advance🤍🤍
@cricketdesign2 ай бұрын
just everywhere you want to, i mostly take refs from real life photo, film, my favorite artists

I dont know why to me the shadowing doesn't work like that.. it makes it black and white and not like a shadow from the color underneath... is it like because of the new illustrator version or I'm just doing something wrong.. I followed all your steps :') you'll probably never answer me since this is a 3y old video but we nerver know..

the original color of shadow is black (gradient color with adjust of opacity 20:19 ) and change blending mode to Soft light. Make sure your color mode is RGB

This is really an interesting illustration, I never saw "textures" like that (the brush ones) used on a drawing in illustrator, also the work on the shadows, the colors, the drawing style too is special, really well made ! I absolutely love illustrations made on illustrator, but it always takes alooot of time, can't imagine how much this one took. Hope I can reach this level soon to have something pretty to show on my portfolio 😊 Thank you for showing it, I could learn a few things even if it was speedy I still managed to understand them
