Ah, how enlightening that you mention the CB Movement on Step 1 of the Basico! I see it, do it, and teach it, but did not hear any other teacher bring it up. The contra body, or the absence of it, is crucial in understanding the various walks of tango.

Yes, we focus a lot on contra-body (contra-lateral) movement when discussing walking. It is a key ingredient to creating a nice elegant walk. It is similar to how we walk down the street. We demonstrate for people walking very flat or uni-laterally and then transition to contra-body and they laugh, because the difference is so obvious. We might do a separate video just to focus on this, since it is such an important topic.
